The Star Standard Air cushion is Etac's single-chamber Neoprene air wheelchair cushion, sold through Ki Mobility, for Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The live Ki card prints 2 inch (5 cm), 3 inch (7.5 cm), and 4 inch (10 cm) cell heights and an unlimited user weight. On a 9 by 9 cell size the owner's manual prints 2.15 lbs (0.98 kg) at 2 inches, 2.75 lbs (1.25 kg) at 3 inches, and 3.35 lbs (1.52 kg) at 4 inches.

This is a quote-only size. A seating therapist confirms cell height and the flap-to-flap size before we order. Standard Air is the plain-cell Star. Stabil Air adds foam cylinders. StarLock is discontinued. If a seating therapist wants a different family, Westin also quotes the JAY Fusion with Cryo, the ROHO High Profile, and the Prism Supreme II Plus.

The Star Standard Air cushion fits a person whose seating therapist wants one-valve air-cell immersion and envelopment, and who can manage a daily inflation check. Ki Mobility writes it for users with a low activity level who need the cells to follow small movements. Stay here if plain Neoprene cells are the brief. Choose the Star Stabil Air Cushion if transfers need the in-cell foam.

Neoprene cells and Sentinel

The Star Standard Air cushion is one air compartment and one valve. Neoprene cells wrap the sitting surface with little cell-wall stretch. Taller cells allow more immersion. Inflation follows the same Stabil Air / Standard Air guide: valve at the front left, 3/4 to 1 inch (2 to 3 cm) hand-check gap. A standard textile cover ships on the cushion. An incontinence cover is optional. Star Sentinel can sit in the front pocket and hold a set pressure; that accessory is quoted separately.

Ki Mobility writes pressure redistribution and envelopment. A seating therapist owns the skin-care plan.

Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario

This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost.
