Westin Healthcare rents a Human Care neXus 3 four-wheel rollator in Toronto and the GTA from $50 for one week.

Deposit

Amount confirmed before booking

Any required deposit amount is confirmed before booking. It is refunded after return and inspection, normally within about three business days.

Customer collection is from Westin Healthcare, Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive, Brampton. The Etobicoke store is our partner, not a Westin location, and partner pickup is not promised on this page.

Walker, rollator or knee walker: which one do I need?

The right device depends on the injury and the clinician's instructions. Westin's published rental is the neXus 3 four-wheel rollator, not a two-wheel walker or a knee walker.

Hip or knee surgery

Two-wheel walker

A two-wheel walker has front wheels, rear glides and no seat. William Osler, UHN Toronto Western and Holland Centre tell hip and knee replacement patients to bring this type on surgery day.

What Westin rents

Four-wheel rollator

The neXus 3 has a seat, hand brakes, four 8-inch wheels and a cross-folding frame. It is for someone who can walk, can control the brakes and needs a seat for rest breaks.

Foot or ankle

Knee walker

A knee walker supports the injured lower leg on a pad. It is a different device for foot, ankle or below-the-knee recovery, and Westin does not publish a knee-walker rental.

Two wheels or four after hip or knee replacement?

Use the two-wheel walker specified by the hospital for surgery day. Do not substitute the neXus 3 unless the physiotherapist later clears a four-wheel rollator for the next stage of recovery.

William Osler

Brampton Civic and Etobicoke General

Osler requires a two-wheeled walker and a single-point cane after hip or knee replacement, with the walker brought to hospital on surgery day.

UHN

Toronto Western

UHN tells patients to bring a two-wheeled walker and to have any home equipment delivered before discharge.

Holland Centre

Wrist-crease fitting

Holland Centre requires a walker with two wheels or no wheels and says the handle should be measured to the wrist crease.

Sources: William Osler, UHN and Holland Centre.

How do I size the neXus 3, and will it fit at home?

Stand with arms relaxed and set the handle at the wrist crease. Choose the seat height and handle range together, then check the narrowest door, the bathroom turn and the vehicle before booking.

Published neXus 3 sizing choices.
SizeHandle rangeSeat heightSeat width
Super Low30.5 to 33.5 inches18.5 inches17.5 inches

Seat and brakes

Rest only after both brakes are set

The neXus 3 has a two-position seat and cable-free hand brakes. The user must be able to squeeze and control both brakes before walking with it.

Car

Cross-folding frame

The frame folds across, stands while folded and keeps the bag attached. Measure the vehicle opening and boot before collection because the exact folded width and frame weight are not confirmed.

Condo

Check the bathroom turn

A rollator does not turn in place. Measure the narrowest interior door and the turn into the bathroom, and keep the rollator on one floor because it does not travel on stairs.

The exact frame weight, folded width, turning space and signed weight capacity still require a floor-label check. We will confirm them for the unit supplied rather than publish an unverified number.

Can you deliver it before surgery or discharge?

When the rollator is in stock, we can often deliver the same day or the next day. Call 905 451-7743 for an urgent discharge instead of relying on the online calendar.

Delivery day

Plan for a 2 to 3 hour window

The rental program uses a 2 to 3 hour delivery window. An extra charge can apply outside 30 km of the GTA rentals location.

Service area

Toronto and the GTA

Published delivery cities are Toronto, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Mississauga, Brampton and Scarborough.

Surgery day

Confirm the device first

If the hospital specified a two-wheel walker, arrange that device before surgery. A four-wheel rollator should only follow when the care team says it is suitable.

What usually goes with a rollator after surgery?

Hip and knee discharge lists commonly pair the walking aid with bathroom, transfer and seating equipment. Choose only what the care team says the home needs.

Funding

Does ADP pay for a rollator rental or purchase?

ADP does not pay for a walker or rollator rental. ADP can pay up to 75 percent of the approved price for a purchased wheeled walker when an adult meets the clinical rules and needs it for 6 months or longer.

Short term

Rent privately

A one-week recovery or visitor stay does not meet the 6-month ADP rule. OHIP does not reimburse a retail rollator rental.

Long term

Start an ADP purchase

An ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist assesses the need. ADP aims to review a mobility application within 8 weeks, so a rental can bridge the wait.

Home care

Call Ontario Health atHome first

Eligible home-care patients may receive equipment through contracted suppliers after assessment. Ask the Care Coordinator at 310-2222 whether a walker is available.
