Braces and splints in Brampton and the GTA
A brace or splint supports one joint so the rest of the day can continue. Knee, wrist, ankle or back: start with the joint that is failing, then we match the support.
Westin Healthcare in Brampton supplies medical braces and splints for people across the GTA and ships across Ontario. We quote in writing. Nothing on this page is a price.
If one joint is the problem, start here. If walking itself is the problem, start with a walking aid.
People find this page after a sprain, a surgery, or a joint that has been sore for months. The four supports we list are the ones named on the live page: knee braces, wrist splints, ankle braces and back supports.
A brace does not replace a cane, a rollator or a wheelchair. If the issue is balance or distance, see walking aids or rollators and walkers.
Knee braces
For a knee that needs wrapping, hinging or unloading so the person can stand and walk without the joint giving way.
Wrist splints
For a wrist that needs rest or a set angle, including overnight support after strain or a clinician's note.
Ankle braces
For an ankle that rolls, swells or is coming back from a sprain. Stability first, then you decide about a cane.
Back supports
For the lumbar belt kind of support you wear on the body. This is not a wheelchair backrest. Seating belongs on the cushions and backrests page.
Four questions, in order. Do not start with a brand name.
The old page listed the joints and sent you to the shop. That is still the shop path. These four answers stop you buying the wrong support for the right joint.
Which joint
Knee, wrist, ankle or back. If more than one joint is failing, say so. We will not pretend one brace fixes two problems.
Hold still, or keep moving
A splint often rests the joint. A brace often lets the joint move inside a limit. If a clinician already named one or the other, bring that note.
How long you will wear it
A two-week recovery and everyday wear are different jobs. Tell us which one you are in. We will not invent a wear schedule on this page.
Size against the person, not the box
Bring the person if you can, or a recent measurement. A brace that is two sizes off is decoration. We would rather measure than guess from a photo.
There is no separate braces aisle. They live in medical supplies.
The closest live category is medical supplies. That is the same handoff the previous page used. The full catalogue is on the shop.
Medical supplies
Braces, splints and everyday medical supplies in one category. Start here if you already know the joint.
Brampton floor
Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive. Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm, Saturday 10am to 2pm. Call 905 451-7743 if you want someone waiting.
Ask for a written quote
Tell us the joint, the size if you have it, and whether a clinician named a type. We confirm what you pay before anything is ordered.
ADP does not cover braces or splints.
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program funds wheelchairs, approved scooters and seating only. It does not fund braces, splints, bathroom equipment, beds, stairlifts, ramps, lifts or overbed tables.
Toronto residents may have a different path: the City's Hardship Fund can cover a brace or splint itself up to a maximum, and it will not pay the fitting fee. That is Toronto only. Peel does not run a municipal hardship fund for people who are not on Ontario Works or ODSP.
You want it this week
Then the only question is which support fits the joint. We quote in writing. Come to Brampton if you can, or we deliver across Ontario.
Open medical supplies →You want a program to help
ADP will not. If you live in Toronto, read the Hardship Fund page before you assume a city program will pay a fitting fee. Everywhere else, tell us early and we will say which routes are realistic.
See how funding works →Say so before we size anything
We would rather help you pick the support you can actually buy than let a quote sit unused. Call 905 451-7743.
Talk to us honestly →Questions about braces and splints
If yours is not here, call us on 905 451-7743. A person answers during business hours.
Does ADP cover braces or splints in Ontario?
No. ADP covers wheelchairs, approved scooters and seating only. Braces and splints are outside that list, in Brampton and everywhere else in Ontario.
What braces and splints do you carry?
Knee braces, wrist splints, ankle braces and back supports. Those four are the types named on the live page. Browse them inside medical supplies, or call and we will point you at the right listing.
Is a back support the same as a wheelchair backrest?
No. A back support on this page is something you wear. A wheelchair backrest mounts to a chair and replaces stretched sling upholstery. If the problem is the chair, go to the backrests page.
Can Toronto Hardship Fund pay for a brace?
For a Toronto resident, the City can cover the brace or splint itself up to a maximum. It will not pay the fitting fee. That program is not available in Brampton or the rest of Peel. Read the Toronto Hardship Fund page before you budget.
Do I need a prescription?
Not from us, as a store rule. If a clinician already named a type or a size, bring that note. It saves a wrong order. We will not invent a medical requirement that the snapshot did not state.
Can I pick one up in Brampton?
Yes. The showroom is Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive, Brampton, ON L7A 1B7. Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm, Saturday 10am to 2pm. We also deliver across Ontario. We do not publish a delivery window on this page.
Where do I actually shop the products?
The live category is medical supplies. There is no separate /braces shop aisle. The previous page used that same handoff, and it still returns a live category.
