The showroom, the order desk and the install crews all share the city with you. After Brampton Civic Hospital or Peel Memorial Centre, the equipment is in the same city. The Regional Municipality of Peel is the Ontario Works service manager, and Peel's supports run through OW rather than a municipal hardship fund.

The showroom sits in the L7A industrial pocket near Mount Pleasant. Brampton City Hall at 2 Wellington Street West is about 4.8 km away. Peel Memorial Centre at 20 Lynch Street is about 5.8 km. Brampton Civic Hospital at 2100 Bovaird Drive East is about 8.0 km.
A family leaving Civic, or living by City Hall, can reach the showroom without leaving Brampton. Sit in the chair here, then we measure and install at the house.

Peel Village stairs are not a Bramalea tower job.
Brampton is a lower-tier city in Peel, about 266 square kilometres, with 656,480 people living in 182,472 of 189,086 private dwellings in 2021. Official planning treats downtown and Queen Street, Bramalea, and Mount Pleasant as different growth areas. A confirmed structural-type split is not published for this page, so we measure the house in front of us.
Most of the city is still ground-oriented: detached, semi and row houses at scale, with apartment towers concentrated in Bramalea, downtown and the growing Major Transit Station Area corridors. Two-storey houses create interior-stair demand. Front steps create ramp and porch-lift demand. Towers create elevator-booking demand for a bed. Stair widths were not measured for this page.
Mature lots, front steps, a turning stair
Four Corners is the historic civic core around Main and Queen. City Hall is at 2 Wellington Street West. Amica Peel Village sits at 223 Main Street South, between Elgin Drive and Charolais Boulevard, on the doorstep of Peel Village. That neighbourhood is established, tree-lined, multi-storey houses. The usual conversation is a straight or curved stairlift and a porch lift or short ramp. We measure the stair. We do not invent a millimetre width for every Peel Village house.

Bramalea was planned in the 1950s immediately east of the then Town of Brampton as Canada's first satellite new town. It has a civic centre from 1972, Bramalea City Centre, ground-oriented streets, and apartment towers. A hospital bed or patient lift going into a tower needs the building's elevator and loading-dock rules confirmed. Those rules belong to the condo or landlord.

Mount Pleasant is an official secondary plan and Major Transit Station Area around Mount Pleasant GO. It is newer, planned, transit-oriented growth on the northwest side of the city, the same side as Fisherman Drive. This is the honest place to talk about newer streets and GO-oriented intensification, not 1950s Bramalea stock. Springdale and Heart Lake are named suburban parts of the city. They are not a reason to stuff a neighbourhood list.

City planning is pushing intensification along Queen Street East MTSAs and downtown. That means more apartment and condo buildings in those corridors over time. It does not erase the existing low-rise houses. A bed into a new Queen Street building is an elevator booking. A porch on an older downtown lot is still a porch lift. Confirm the building rules at the assessment.

A Civic discharge asks for a bed. A Peel Village hall asks for a rail.

William Osler Health System has two sites inside Brampton city limits. We are not on a preferred-vendor list at either one. The names matter because this is where a Brampton hospital bed, wheelchair or lift actually starts: a planner at Civic, or a follow-up at Lynch Street.

2100 Bovaird Drive East, Brampton, ON L6R 3J7. Full-service community hospital serving Brampton, south Caledon and beyond. Opened 2007. Inpatient and outpatient services including cancer, cardiology, dialysis, labour and delivery, mental health, dementia and palliative programs. Osler's general rehabilitation program, the intensive therapies, is here.
Peel Memorial Centre
20 Lynch Street, Brampton, ON L6W 2Z8, off Queen Street East west of Kennedy. Opened 2017 as an outpatient facility: day surgery, seniors programs, mental health, women's and children's programs, diagnostic imaging, dialysis, plus an Urgent Care Centre. Osler does not currently describe it as a full 24-hour inpatient hospital. Ontario has broken ground on a Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 expansion. That second hospital is not open yet.
FES is at Etobicoke General
Osler runs functional enhancement services at Etobicoke General Hospital, which is in Etobicoke, not Brampton. Do not plan FES as a Brampton program. Credit Valley Hospital and Mississauga Hospital are in Mississauga. There is no other acute-care hospital inside Brampton city limits on the official Osler site.

Discharge planning for Civic and Peel Memorial is coordinated through Ontario Health atHome, Central West. The phone listed on the long-term care pages is 1-833-515-1234. We deliver equipment to the home. We do not place people in long-term care.

A bed after Civic is a rental more often than a purchase. ADP will not pay for it. If the person is on ODSP, Peel Disability additional benefits may be a path, with an occupational therapist or doctor referral. If they are not on OW or ODSP, there is no municipal hardship fund in Peel to pick up the bed.

Peel Disability additional benefits
Peel can help pay for items such as medical equipment and dental care. This is not a Toronto-style Hardship Fund. It is not described as open to low-income residents who are not on ODSP.

There is no Brampton hardship fund
Ontario Works clients use their Peel OW caseworker. Peel did not publish a public equipment schedule for OW clients on the pages we checked.
If you are not on OW or ODSP, no municipal equipment hardship program was found. The path is ADP for eligible manual and power wheelchairs, approved scooters, wheelchair seating and wheeled walkers, March of Dimes HVMP may fund eligible stair, porch, garage or home-modification work when its rules fit, then the shared provincial and federal list.
What ADP actually covers
ADP funds eligible manual and power wheelchairs, approved scooters, wheelchair seating and wheeled walkers at up to 75 percent of the approved amount, or 100 percent if the person is on OW, ODSP or ACSD. It does not fund bathroom equipment, beds, stairlifts, ramps or lifts. That limit does not change at the Peel border.

After a discharge from Brampton Civic, what does Peel actually fund?
Peel funds Disability additional benefits for current ODSP recipients, with a form emailed to the Peel ODSP team. Peel does not run a hardship fund for people who are not on OW or ODSP. ADP will not pay for the hospital bed. Westin delivers, installs and services across Brampton.
Is Peel Memorial a hospital I leave with a bed the same way I leave Civic?
No. Peel Memorial Centre at 20 Lynch Street is an outpatient facility plus an Urgent Care Centre. Osler does not currently describe it as a full 24-hour inpatient hospital. The Phase 2 hospital on that site is not open yet. A same-day bed after a Civic inpatient stay is a different conversation from an urgent-care follow-up at Lynch Street. We bring equipment to homes across Brampton after either discharge.
Is there a hardship fund for medical equipment in Brampton?
No municipal equipment hardship program was found for people who are not on Ontario Works or ODSP. If you are on ODSP, ask Peel about Disability additional benefits at 905-793-9200. If you are on OW, ask the Peel caseworker. Do not call 416-338-8888. That number is Toronto Employment and Social Services.
Does ADP cover a hospital bed or a stairlift in a Brampton house?
No. ADP is provincial. It funds eligible manual and power wheelchairs, approved scooters, wheelchair seating and wheeled walkers. It does not fund bathroom equipment, beds, stairlifts, ramps or lifts, in Brampton or anywhere else in Ontario. A two-storey house in Peel Village does not create an exception.
Can you deliver a hospital bed to a condo downtown or in Bramalea?
Yes, we deliver to and install in those buildings. Elevator bookings, loading docks and corridor rules belong to the condo or landlord, not to the City of Brampton. We confirm them at the assessment.
