Overbed tables in Brampton and the GTA

An overbed table brings meals, a book, medication and a laptop within reach without leaning out of the bed or the lift chair.

Adjustable tables for hospital beds and lift chairs, for people in Brampton, Mississauga, Toronto and Caledon. Tilt-top, non-tilt and heavy-duty. We help you match the table to the bed, the chair and the room.

Who this is for

If meals and care happen in the bed, the table is part of the bed.

People order these with a hospital or homecare bed, or beside a lift chair, so eating, reading and medication stay in reach. The hospital-beds guide already names over-bed tables for meals, medication, a book and a phone, and says tilt-top models let someone read or write without leaning forward.

No honest photograph of an overbed table sits in the on-disk image set, so this page does not label a bed or a lift chair as a table.

Over the bed

Hospital bed tables

A wheeled base that slides under the bed frame so the top sits over the mattress. Height adjusts to the person sitting up.

Tilt-top

Reading and writing

The top angles so a book or tablet can sit without the person folding forward. Meals still want a flat lock.

Non-tilt

Meals and care

A flat top that stays flat. Simpler, and the usual choice when the job is a tray, not a desk.

Heavy-duty

When the standard top is not enough

A heavier frame and a higher rated top. Tell us what will sit on it. We will not invent a kilogram rating on this page.

Beside the chair

Lift chair tables

A different category: tables built to sit beside a lift chair rather than over a bed. Shop them at lift chair tables.

The rest of the room

Bed accessories

Rails, wedges and the other pieces that travel with a homecare bed. See bed accessories.

How to choose

What it sits over, then whether the top must tilt, then the room.

Call us and we will help you choose a table that fits your bed, chair and room. That sentence is from the live page. The four questions below are how we do that without guessing a size from a photograph.

01

Bed or lift chair

A bed table slides under a hospital or homecare bed. A lift chair table sits beside a recliner. They are two live shop categories, not one product with two names.

02

Flat, or tilt

Meals want a flat lock. Reading and writing want a tilt-top. If you need both, say so. We will not pretend a tray that only tilts is a dinner table.

03

Clearance under the frame

The U-shaped base has to slide under the bed or the chair. A homecare bed with a low skirt, or a lift chair on a thick rug, can block a standard base. Measure that gap or tell us the bed model.

04

What will sit on it

A plate and a glass is one job. A laptop and a pile of papers is another. Heavy-duty exists for a reason. We quote the table that matches the load, in writing.

The live shop

Bed tables and lift chair tables are two aisles.

The previous page linked both, plus hospital beds, mattresses and bed accessories. Those URLs still return 200. We deliver across the GTA. We do not publish a delivery window.

The bed itself

Hospital beds

The bed the table works with. Buy or rent, delivered and assembled. Also not an ADP item.

Paying for it

ADP does not cover overbed tables, or the bed they sit over.

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program funds wheelchairs, approved scooters and seating only. It does not fund beds, mattresses, overbed tables, lift chairs, bathroom equipment, stairlifts, ramps or lifts.

If the table is part of a short stay after hospital, ask about renting the bed and the table together rather than buying both. We confirm what you pay in writing.

Paying yourself

You want the table with the bed

Order it with the bed so we can check clearance under the frame on the same visit. Or shop bed tables on their own.

You want a program to help

ADP will not pay for the table or the bed. Other programs sometimes help with a bed. Tell us early and we will say which routes are realistic.

Short stay

Rent the bed, add the table

If the need is weeks, not years, renting is usually the honest first move. Ask when you book the bed.

Questions about overbed tables

If yours is not here, call us on 905 451-7743. A person answers during business hours.

Does ADP cover an overbed table?

No. ADP covers wheelchairs, approved scooters and seating only. It does not cover beds, mattresses or overbed tables, in Brampton or anywhere else in Ontario.

What kinds of overbed tables do you carry?

Tilt-top, non-tilt and heavy-duty tables for hospital beds, plus a separate aisle of lift chair tables. Those are the types named on the live page.

Will it fit under my bed or lift chair?

Only if the base can slide under the frame. Tell us the bed or chair model, or measure the gap under the side rail. We would rather check that before delivery than discover it in the bedroom.

Do I need a tilt-top?

If the person reads or writes in bed, yes, because the angle stops them folding forward. If the job is meals and medication, a flat top is simpler and stays level.

Is a lift chair table the same product?

No. It is a different live category. Shop lift chair tables if the person sits in a recliner. Shop bed tables if the table has to slide under a hospital or homecare bed.

Do you deliver to Mississauga, Toronto and Caledon?

Yes. The live page named Brampton, Mississauga, Toronto and Caledon. We deliver across the GTA. We do not publish a delivery window on this page.

Where do I shop the products?

Bed tables for overbed and hospital bed tables. Lift chair tables for the recliner. Hospital beds, medical mattresses and bed accessories sit next to those aisles, the same as on the previous page.

Looking for an overbed or lift chair table?

Tell us the bed or chair, whether the top must tilt, and the city. We will help you choose a table that fits the frame and the room.
