Multi-drive friction technology
Multi-drive friction technology
Four independent drive units instead of one. If a motor ever fails, the other three carry you to the top or the bottom. An emergency stop sits under the seat.
Powered swivel at the landing
Hold the toggle toward the landing and the seat turns up to 80 degrees, so you step off facing the floor instead of twisting at the top of the stairs.
Joystick and two remotes
One joystick on the armrest, and two remotes with wall holders so the lift can be called to whichever landing you are standing on.
Folds flat against the wall
Seat, arms and footrest fold up so the rest of the household can pass on the stairs. The optional powered footrest folds without you bending down.
Obstacle sensors and a seatbelt
Sensors stop the lift the moment it meets anything on the stairs. The retractable seatbelt is standard, not an upgrade, and the footrest has an anti-slip texture.
Self-cleaning rail, no grease
Four brush heads clean dust and pet hair off the rail every trip, and the tooth-rack-free design means no grease line down your staircase.
Hinged, sliding and zero-intrusion rails
A manual hinge or an automatic sliding track clears a doorway at the bottom. Zero Intrusion suits basements where the stairs finish at a door, with no rail overrun and no alterations to the house.

Savaria K2
The most affordable lift we install. Rack and pinion drive, two seat styles, and it folds to just under 11 inches from the wall so the stairs stay usable.
Savaria K2 Plus
The K2 built for heavier users, with the wider Plus seat. Approved for commercial settings in most areas, so it suits duplexes and shared entrances.
Handicare 1000
Higher capacity with a closed gear rack that keeps the rail looking tidy. A Perch seat is available for stairs too steep or narrow to sit fully. This is the model we fit outdoors most often.
Handicare 1100
Friction drive with no gear rack at all, which is why it looks the cleanest on an open staircase. Powered swivel, powered footrest and the sliding track that moves the rail clear of a doorway.
Access HomeGlide
A straightforward, quiet lift that sits close to the wall and disappears into the room. Simple controls, few options to decide between, and a short lead time.

Paying for it, honestly
Stairlifts are not covered by Ontario's Assistive Devices Program. Anyone who tells you ADP pays for a stairlift is mistaken. Westin prepares quotes and documents; billing follows the program, claim or plan authorization.
For stairlifts specifically, these are the routes worth checking, including IFHP when the item is on the benefit grid. Each one has its own eligibility, authorization and covered-item rules.
March of Dimes
Home and Vehicle Modification Program. HVMP may fund an eligible stairlift when applicant, request and authorization rules fit.
Federal tax credit
The federal Home Accessibility Tax Credit may offset part of an eligible enduring home renovation when CRA eligibility rules fit. It is not an Ontario credit, and we do not promise a stairlift qualifies.
Veterans Affairs Canada
POC 13 may help only for an eligible assessed need with benefit-grid approval.
WSIB
Only for an allowed work-related claim with clinical support and authorization.
Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
ODSP Mandatory Special Necessities excludes home renovations such as ramps and stairlifts. It is not blanket stairlift funding.

How much does a straight stairlift cost in Ontario?
Price depends on the model, the length of your staircase and the options you choose. A powered swivel, powered footrest or power folding rail add to that. The free assessment gives you an exact written quote with no obligation.
How long does the installation take?
Two to four hours in most homes. The rail fastens to the stair treads rather than your wall, so there is no structural work and no mess. Homes with several landings can take up to five hours.
Are stairlifts covered by ADP in Ontario?
No. ADP does not cover stairlifts. March of Dimes HVMP may fund an eligible stairlift when applicant, request and authorization rules fit. WSIB may help only on an allowed work-related claim with clinical support and authorization. Veterans Affairs POC 13 may help only for an eligible assessed need with benefit-grid approval. IFHP may cover eligible benefit-grid equipment, and a 30 percent co-payment applies to eligible supplemental items since May 1, 2026. The federal Home Accessibility Tax Credit may offset part of an eligible enduring home renovation when CRA eligibility rules fit. Will a stairlift damage my staircase?
No. The only trace after removal is small bolt holes in the treads. Under carpet they are invisible, and on hardwood they can be filled and stained.
Does it need special wiring?
No. It plugs into an ordinary household outlet. Rechargeable battery backup keeps it running during a power cut.
How long do the batteries last?
Your stairlift runs on rechargeable batteries that charge whenever the chair is parked, so it still works during a power cut. They are a replaceable part rather than a lifetime one, and we replace them for you when the time comes. Your written quote confirms the warranty terms that apply.
Can the rail be shortened at the bottom so it does not block a doorway?
Yes. A manual hinge or an automatic sliding track folds the rail end clear of a door or hallway. Zero Intrusion rails suit basement stairs that finish at a door.
Can I rent one instead of buying?
Yes, and we sell refurbished units when they come in. Renting suits recovery from surgery or a stay that has an end date. Ask about current stock.
