Straight stairlifts for straight staircases.

If your stairs run in one unbroken line with no turn or landing, this is the simplest and least expensive way up. The rail bolts to your stair treads, not your wall, and it is working the same day we arrive.

Quoted at the free assessment. Every quote includes the lift, the rail cut to your staircase, delivery and installation.

What makes the Handicare 1100 worth the money

Scroll through the features. Most of what matters on a stairlift is what happens in the two seconds before you sit down and the two seconds after you stand up.

Multi-drive friction technology

Multi-drive friction technology

Four independent drive units instead of one. If a motor ever fails, the other three carry you to the top or the bottom. An emergency stop sits under the seat.

Powered swivel at the landing

Hold the toggle toward the landing and the seat turns up to 80 degrees, so you step off facing the floor instead of twisting at the top of the stairs.

Joystick and two remotes

One joystick on the armrest, and two remotes with wall holders so the lift can be called to whichever landing you are standing on.

Folds flat against the wall

Seat, arms and footrest fold up so the rest of the household can pass on the stairs. The optional powered footrest folds without you bending down.

Obstacle sensors and a seatbelt

Sensors stop the lift the moment it meets anything on the stairs. The retractable seatbelt is standard, not an upgrade, and the footrest has an anti-slip texture.

Self-cleaning rail, no grease

Four brush heads clean dust and pet hair off the rail every trip, and the tooth-rack-free design means no grease line down your staircase.

Hinged, sliding and zero-intrusion rails

A manual hinge or an automatic sliding track clears a doorway at the bottom. Zero Intrusion suits basements where the stairs finish at a door, with no rail overrun and no alterations to the house.

Six straight models we install

We carry Savaria, Handicare and Access. Every one of these fits a straight staircase - the difference is capacity, how much of the work the lift does for you, and whether it can go outside.

From phone call to first ride

Step one

You call or book online

Tell us roughly how many steps you have and whether the staircase turns. That is enough to start.

Five minutes
Step two

We measure, free

A consultant measures the rise, the tread depth and the doorway at the bottom, then leaves a written quote.

About 45 minutes
Step three

We order and file paperwork

Straight rails are stocked, so there is no custom manufacturing wait. We complete any funding forms that apply.

Usually within a week
Step four

We install and show you

Two technicians fit the rail to your treads, test it loaded, and stay until you have ridden it yourself.

2 to 4 hours
Also available as an outdoor straight lift

The front steps are often the harder problem.

A straight outdoor stairlift runs on a weatherproofed rail with sealed controls, a drainage-friendly footrest and a marine-grade cover that locks over the seat when it is parked. It handles Ontario winters, road salt and summer sun.

  • Porch steps, deck stairs and side or basement entrances
  • Same 2 to 4 hour install on a straight run
  • Quoted at the free assessment once we measure the rise
  • Often paired with a railing or a ramp on the same visit

The outdoor models we fit

Handicare 1000 Outdoor

Weatherproofed rail and sealed controls, with a locking cover over the seat. The higher-capacity option for a front porch or a deck.

Access HomeGlide Outdoor

Built for the elements from the ground up. Marine-grade cover, drainage-friendly footrest, and the same simple controls as the indoor HomeGlide.

Savaria K2 with outdoor package

The budget route to an outdoor lift, suitable for milder exposures such as a covered porch or a sheltered side entrance.

Straight or curved, outdoors

Straight outdoor rail

One run of steps, no turn. The common case for a front porch.

Curved outdoor rail

Steps that wrap a corner or split around a landing. Custom built. See curved stairlifts

Porch lift instead

If you use a wheelchair, a vertical platform lift is usually the better answer than a seat. See porch lifts

Paying for it, honestly

Stairlifts are not covered by Ontario's Assistive Devices Program. Anyone who tells you ADP pays for a stairlift is mistaken. Westin prepares quotes and documents; billing follows the program, claim or plan authorization.

For stairlifts specifically, these are the routes worth checking, including IFHP when the item is on the benefit grid. Each one has its own eligibility, authorization and covered-item rules.

March of Dimes

Home and Vehicle Modification Program. HVMP may fund an eligible stairlift when applicant, request and authorization rules fit.

WSIB

Only for an allowed work-related claim with clinical support and authorization.

Muscular Dystrophy Canada, Easter Seals

Equipment grants for diagnosed conditions, including children.

Private insurance and financing

Some extended health plans contribute. We can also discuss paying monthly instead of upfront.

Does your staircase turn?

Then you need a curved stairlift.

A landing, a 90 degree bend or a spiral means the rail has to be built to your exact staircase. Different lift, different price, different timeline. We install three, and they suit different situations.
