Description
The Star Stabil Air cushion is Etac's single-chamber air wheelchair cushion with foam cylinders inside each cell, sold through Ki Mobility, for Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The live Ki card prints 3 inch (7.5 cm) and 4 inch (10 cm) cell heights and an unlimited user weight. On a 9 by 9 cell size the owner's manual prints 3.4 lbs (1.54 kg) at 3 inches and 4.1 lbs (1.86 kg) at 4 inches.
This is a quote-only size. A seating therapist confirms cell height and the flap-to-flap size before we order. Stabil Air is the current Star seat that adds in-cell foam for stability. StarLock is discontinued and is not sold here. If a seating therapist wants a different family, Westin also quotes the JAY Fusion with Cryo, the ROHO High Profile, and the Prism Supreme II Plus.
Who this cushion is for
The Star Stabil Air cushion fits a person whose seating therapist wants air-cell immersion plus extra stability for transfers. Taller foam cylinders sit at the outside of the cushion; lower cylinders sit under the buttocks, coccyx, and legs. Stay here if that secondary foam layer is the brief. Choose the Star Standard Air Cushion if the therapist wants plain Neoprene cells with no foam inside.
- Single chamber, foam cylinder in each cell
- 3 inch or 4 inch cell height
- Unlimited user weight on the Ki card
Foam-in-cell air and Sentinel
The Star Stabil Air cushion is one air chamber, so there is one valve. Soft foam cylinders sit inside the cells and hold an anatomical shape while the air still lets the person immerse. Ki Mobility's inflation guide puts the valve at the front left and uses a 3/4 to 1 inch (2 to 3 cm) hand-check gap under the lowest bony prominence. A standard textile cover ships on the cushion. An incontinence cover is optional. Star Sentinel, powered by Kalogon, can sit in the front pocket and hold a set pressure; that accessory is quoted separately.
Ki Mobility writes pressure redistribution and envelopment. A seating therapist owns the skin-care plan.
Star Stabil Air Cushion specifications
These figures are from Ki Mobility's current Stabil Air card and the Star owner's manual. The specification tab holds the stored values. We do not invent a size picker.
Cell height 3 inches (7.5 cm) or 4 inches (10 cm). Cushion sizes on the Ki card run from about 13x13 through 21x21 inches depending on height. The June 2026 Star order form also sells a 22.75 inch flap-to-flap width for some 21 to 24 inch chair widths. User weight: unlimited. Product weight at 9x9 cells: 3.4 lbs (1.54 kg) at 3 inches, 4.1 lbs (1.86 kg) at 4 inches. Cover: standard textile; optional incontinence cover.
The Star owner's manual prints a 2-year guarantee on the cushion and a 6-month guarantee on the cover.
Width and depth
A seating therapist matches the wheelchair seat to a Stabil Air flap-to-flap size and a 3 or 4 inch cell height. Westin orders that size after the assessment.
Which Axiom wheelchair cushion fits
The Star Stabil Air cushion is the foam-in-cell Star. Stay here if the therapist wants air immersion plus transfer stability. StarLock is discontinued. The Axiom One Cushion is the value general-use foam start. The Axiom G Cushion adds the full Axiom Difference well and cover choice. The Axiom S Cushion is the entry skin-protection foam. The Axiom P Cushion is the positioning foam at 3.5 inches. The Axiom SP Visco Cushion puts viscoelastic foam in the well. The Axiom SP Fluid Cushion swaps that well for Hydrolite fluid. The Axiom AS Cushion is the self-adjusting fluid skin-protection step. The Axiom ASP Cushion adds positioning height to that fluid system. The Axiom Air LTE Cushion is the 1 lb four-size air seat. The Star Stabil Air Cushion and Star Standard Air Cushion are the Etac Star air-cell seats.
Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every product qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers this wheelchair cushion across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, check the size against the chair, and show you the front-left valve, the foam-in-cell orientation, and a first hand check before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see an Axiom or Star cushion first. For a scheduled in-home drop-off, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased cushions are delivered on a scheduled date.
If the cushion is going outside the GTA, ask us for a shipping quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the cushion needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Etac Star Stabil Air warranty
The Star Stabil Air and Standard Air owner's manual prints a 2-year guarantee on the cushion and a 6-month guarantee on the cover, against material and manufacture faults. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
What Size Wheelchair Cushion Do I Need?
The Star Stabil Air cushion is ordered by seat width and depth after a seating therapist measures hip width in sitting and matches the wheelchair seat. Westin quotes and orders that size after the assessment.
How Do I Choose Between Gel, Foam, And Air Cushions?
Ki Mobility Axiom foam cushions (One, G, S, P, SP Visco) are foam. Axiom SP Fluid, AS, and ASP use Hydrolite fluid, which is not gel. Axiom Air LTE and the Star cushions are air cells. A seating therapist names the class. Do not pick from a photo alone.
Does ADP Cover Wheelchair Cushions?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help with a wheelchair cushion or back support after an ADP-registered therapist assessment with an eligible mobility device. Eligibility depends on the person. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
Is StarLock Still Available?
StarLock is discontinued on Etac's support page. The Star Stabil Air cushion is the current Star that adds in-cell foam for stability. The Star Standard Air cushion is the current plain single-chamber cell seat.
What Is The Weight Limit For The Star Stabil Air?
The Star Stabil Air cushion is printed with an unlimited user weight on Ki Mobility's current card, for all Stabil Air sizes.
How Do I Inflate The Star Stabil Air?
The Star Stabil Air cushion uses one valve at the front left. Ki Mobility's inflation guide uses a 3/4 to 1 inch (2 to 3 cm) hand-check gap under the lowest bony prominence. A seating therapist should teach the first set-up.
How Long Is The Star Stabil Air Warranty?
The Star Stabil Air cushion carries a 2-year cushion guarantee and a 6-month cover guarantee in the Star owner's manual.
Can I See A Star Cushion In Brampton?
Westin Healthcare can show a Star cushion in the Brampton and Toronto stores and deliver across the GTA. Call (905) 451-7743 to check what is on the floor.
