SmartStop deliberately pauses the descent at 12-1/2 inches, and the last stretch down has to be driven from the foot end staff controller, so that somebody checks the area under the bed is clear of any body parts or foreign objects first. • The deck retracts. The GlideAlign deck travels 12 inches during normal use, so the space around the frame changes while the bed is being used, not only when it is being moved.
• The bed gets moved with equipment on it. Span's transporting procedure asks for two people, asks you to walk the whole perimeter first "to ensure that no accessories will fall or get damaged", and states plainly that "all accessories used on the bed are secured or removed" before the bed goes anywhere.
• Everything you hang counts. The Encore's safe working load of 600 lb (272 kg) includes, in Span's words, "the weight of accessories, options and bedding".

Span manufacturer warranty

Span Medical Products Canada warrants all beds and bed accessories sold by Span to be free from defects in workmanship and materials under normal and proper use and service from the date of initial delivery.
