Description
The Golden MaxiComforter with Twilight PR-545 is the chair Golden built to change how you feel at the end of the day: MaxiComfort infinite positioning underneath, and Twilight, Golden's patented 30-degree wellness tilt, on top. The Twilight tilt lays the whole seat back into the Zero Gravity Plus position, legs above the heart, weight redistributed off the lungs and the pressure points, at the touch of one programmed button. Three comfort zones, three sizes (Medium, Large, Tall), 375 lb capacity, USB charging, lithium-ion backup, Class II medical device made in the USA. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets it up across Brampton and the GTA.
The PR-545 is the Comforter body, Golden's longest-standing frame, rebuilt with the 3-zone Twilight system: the everyday chair that doubles as a daily recovery session.
Who this lift chair is for
The PR-545 is for the person whose body needs the position, not just the recline: chronic back pain that eases only legs-up; swollen legs and feet the doctor wants elevated; heart or lung conditions where pressure off the chest genuinely changes the evening; the post-surgical recovery months when the recliner becomes the bed. Twilight's 30-degree tilt is the feature that answers those, and ZG+ (Zero Gravity Plus) is the named position it reaches: the seat box tilts as a unit, cradling rather than folding you.
It is also simply the best seat in the house for a long day, and Golden designed it to be bought that way: seam-back styling that passes in a normal living room, AutoDrive positions programmed to your routine, and the lift your hips need. If Twilight tilt is the interest but the budget points lower, the three-position tier (the Cambridge, Nipigon) does not tilt and says so honestly; if you want Twilight in the Cloud body, the Cloud with Twilight carries it; over 375 lbs the Comforter Wide tier is the answer.
Twilight and ZG+: what the tilt actually does
Most lift chairs recline the back and drop the footrest; the seat itself never moves. Twilight adds a third axis: the entire seat tilts back 30 degrees as a unit. That single motion is what produces the Zero Gravity Plus position, legs elevated above the heart with the spine supported in its natural curve, the posture physiotherapists mean when they say zero gravity. Golden's own benefits list for it: elevates feet above heart, takes pressure off the lungs, redistributes body weight, relieves pressure points, encourages proper posture, and supports the natural shape of the spine.
The three comfort zones divide the work: zones 1 and 2 drive the lower and upper body independently for everyday positioning (legs up while you read, back down while you watch TV), and the Twilight circuit delivers the tilt. The AutoDrive hand control is programmable, so your lift, TV, sleep and Twilight positions each become one button, and the USB port at the control box keeps a phone charged through the long sit. The lithium-ion battery backup holds the safety descent through an outage.
Three sizes, honestly different
Medium (PR545-MED) for smaller frames and rooms: 32 inches wide, 42 tall, seat 21 by 20, floor to seat 20 inches. Large (PR545-LAR) for average and bigger users: 34 wide, 43 tall, seat 23 by 21, floor to seat 21. Tall (PR545-TAL) for users over about 6'1": the same 34 inch width but a 48 inch back, a 23 inch seat height and a 22 inch seat depth, so taller people are supported to the head instead of the shoulders. All three carry 375 lbs. The size picker on this page prices the Tall at its own tier, exactly as the supplier prices it; call us and we will size you in two minutes rather than guess.

Fabric options and upgrades
The PR-545 wears the SofTouch stain-defence standard fabrics (Anchor, Bittersweet, Oxford, Port, Sandstorm), with Brisa and Alta performance tiers available for harder-working households; crossover fabrics carry an upcharge. Factory upgrades we order for you: deluxe heat and vibrating massage, HeatWave far-infrared heat (the PR-545 is on Golden's HeatWave-eligible list), and a footrest extension for taller legs. Headrest and arm covers are standard.
Twilight, MaxiComfort and the 3-position tier: the honest ladder
Our lift chair wall answers one question first: how much positioning does the person need? The 3-position tier (the Cambridge, the Nipigon, the Elara) lifts, sits and reclines together, simply. The MaxiComfort tier (the MaxiComforter, the Relaxer, this PR-545's base system) drives back and legs independently and sleeps near-flat. Twilight, on the PR-545 and the Cloud with Twilight, adds the tilting seat box and ZG+ on top of MaxiComfort. Every step is real; we will tell you which step your situation actually needs, including when the honest answer is the cheaper chair.
Funding help for a lift chair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund lift chairs, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs, and a lift chair's lift mechanism may qualify as a medical expense on a Canadian tax return when prescribed. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.

Service and warranty
Golden guarantees the chair frame, lift frame and recline mechanism for life, electrical parts for 3 years (pro-rated through year 7), mechanical labour for 3 years and electrical labour for 1 year, with fabric and foam covered for 1 year. Warranty service runs through Westin's own service and repairs department: our technicians diagnose on the phone, come to the home across our delivery area, and SmartTek's diagnostic codes mean we usually arrive with the right part. Call (905) 451-7743 and the chair you bought from us stays our problem, not yours.
Frequently asked questions
What is Twilight on a Golden lift chair?
Twilight is Golden's patented tilting seat: instead of only reclining the back, the whole seat box tilts back 30 degrees as a unit. That produces the Zero Gravity Plus position, legs above heart, weight off the lungs and pressure points. It is a wellness feature, not a styling one, and the PR-545 carries it as standard.
What is the ZG+ position?
ZG+ is Golden's name for Zero Gravity Plus, the tilt-and-elevate posture the Twilight system reaches: the seat tilts while the legs elevate above the heart and the spine holds its natural curve. On the PR-545 it is one programmed button on the AutoDrive hand control.
What size lift chair do I need?
Medium fits users roughly 5'2" to 5'8", Large 5'8" to 6'1", Tall over 6'1" (48 inch back, 23 inch seat height, 22 inch seat depth). Sizing a Twilight chair is worth a two-minute call: the tilt changes where your head lands. Call (905) 451-7743.
How far from the wall does the PR-545 need to be?
23 inches Medium, 24 Large, 28 Tall, fully reclined. The tilt travels within that envelope, so measure the Tall carefully in smaller rooms.
What is the difference between a 3 position and an infinite position lift chair?
A three-position chair moves seat and back together through lift, sit and recline. The PR-545 is MaxiComfort infinite-position (back and legs independent, near-flat sleep) plus Twilight tilt on top, which no three-position chair offers.
What is the weight capacity of the PR-545?
375 lbs (170 kg) in all three sizes. For 500 to 600 lb capacities, the Comforter Wide tier is the model.
Does the PR-545 have heat?
Two heat routes: optional deluxe heat and vibrating massage, and optional HeatWave, Golden's far-infrared heat system, which the PR-545 is specifically rated to take. HeatWave is the therapeutic option; talk to us about which fits the need.
Can you sleep in the PR-545?
Yes, near-flat, and the Twilight tilt adds the recovery position on top of flat. Many buyers use it through post-surgical months exactly that way.
Does it have USB and a battery backup?
Yes: USB charging at the control box, and a lithium-ion battery backup that lowers the chair safely in an outage.
What fabrics can I choose?
Anchor, Bittersweet, Oxford, Port and Sandstorm in the SofTouch stain-defence standard line, with Brisa and Alta performance tiers and crossover upcharges; swatches are worth seeing in person.
Can funding help with a lift chair in Ontario?
ADP does not fund lift chairs. March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs, extended health plans and the medical-expense tax route genuinely help some buyers; our funding page walks each.
What is the warranty on the PR-545?
Lifetime on frame, lift frame and recline mechanism, 3 years electrical parts, 3 years mechanical labour, 1 year electrical labour, with Westin's own service department behind it.
