Description

The Golden DayDreamer PR-632 is the chair Golden calls its premier seat, and the reasons are the two adjustments most chairs make you live without: the PowerPillow articulating headrest and the power adjustable lumbar, both standard. Four comfort zones move footrest, backrest, headrest and lumbar each on their own, the AutoDrive 3.0 hand control stores four programmed positions (Zero Gravity, TV Watching, Sit, Sleep), and a custom bucket seat holds you in posture instead of letting you puddle. 375 lb capacity, one Medium/Large size, made in the USA, delivered and set up across Brampton and the GTA by Westin Healthcare.

Who this lift chair is for

The DayDreamer is for the sitter: the person who spends most of the day in the chair, reads, watches TV, naps and eats there, and whose comfort problems are head, neck and lower back rather than only legs. Power lumbar answers the lower-back slide that fixed backs force; PowerPillow answers the headrest that is never where your neck is. Together they mean the chair adjusts to the person today and re-adjusts as needs change, which is why families choose it through recovery periods and for aging in place.

The 4-zone system is the other half of the story: footrest, backrest, headrest and lumbar move independently, so the chair finds positions a 2-zone chair physically cannot. If the priority is Twilight's tilting recovery position, that is the PR-545 tier; if it is the slimmest frame, the EZ Sleeper Slim; if budget leads, the 3-position tier like the Cambridge says so honestly.

PowerPillow and power lumbar, standard

PowerPillow is Golden's articulating headrest: it tilts forward and back on its own motor, so reading, TV and napping each get the neck angle they want without a cushion behind your head. The power adjustable lumbar drives the lower-back support in and out independently, which is the adjustment physiotherapists ask for and the one almost no chair offers at this tier. Around them, The Cloud seating system and the custom bucket seat cradle the hips: a bucket seat is shaped for the body, so you sit in the chair rather than on it, and the posture encourages itself. AutoDrive 3.0 programs Zero Gravity, TV Watching, Sit and Sleep to single buttons, USB charges at the control box, the lithium-ion backup holds the safety descent, and SmartTek reports faults as codes our technicians read over the phone.

Size and wall space

One size, Medium/Large: 38 inches wide, 45 tall, seat 22.5 wide by 20.5 deep, floor to seat 20 inches, 31 inch back, and 22 inches of clearance behind it fully reclined. The bucket seat holds users from about 5'6" to 6'1" comfortably; the 22.5 inch seat width takes a broader frame without squeezing. As with every lift chair, measure the doorway as well as the wall: 38 inches wide plus packaging wants a clear opening close to it.

Fabric options

The DayDreamer wears Golden's SofTouch standard fabrics (Calypso, Camel, Hazelnut, Shiraz, Sterling; the photographed Coffee Bean and Brisa tiers carry an upcharge), and the fabric card is worth seeing in person. Optional factory upgrades through us: deluxe heat and vibrating massage and a footrest extension for taller legs.

Where the DayDreamer sits in the Golden ladder

It is the head-and-back comfort pick of the infinite-position tier: 4-zone MaxiComfort with the two powered adjustments that most chairs omit. Below it, the 2-zone MaxiComfort chairs (the MaxiComforter, the Relaxer) and the simpler 3-position tier trade those adjustments for price; above it, Twilight (the PR-545 with Twilight, the Cloud with Twilight) adds the tilting recovery seat. We carry the whole ladder and we will say plainly where your situation lands.

Funding help for a lift chair in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund lift chairs, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs, and a lift chair's lift mechanism may qualify as a medical expense on a Canadian tax return when prescribed. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Every Golden lift chair we sell is stocked, built and serviced through the same team. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets up lift chairs across Brampton, Mississauga, the wider Greater Toronto Area and beyond, and we ship across Canada. Setup means the chair arrives assembled on its frame, is placed where you want it, the back is locked on, and our specialist walks the hand control and safety checks with you before leaving. The details are on our shipping policy page, and any delivery question gets a plain answer at (905) 451-7743.

Service and warranty

Golden guarantees the chair frame, lift frame and recline mechanism for life, electrical parts for 3 years (pro-rated through year 7), mechanical labour for 3 years and electrical labour for 1 year, with fabric and foam covered for 1 year. Warranty service runs through Westin's own service and repairs department: our technicians diagnose on the phone, come to the home across our delivery area, and SmartTek's diagnostic codes mean we usually arrive with the right part. Call (905) 451-7743 and the chair you bought from us stays our problem, not yours.

Frequently asked questions

What is the PowerPillow headrest?

Golden's articulating headrest on its own motor: it tilts forward and back and holds wherever you set it, so reading, TV and napping each get the right neck angle. It is standard on the DayDreamer.

Does the DayDreamer have power lumbar?

Yes, standard: the lumbar support drives in and out independently of everything else, the adjustment lower-back pain actually asks for.

What size lift chair do I need?

The DayDreamer is one Medium/Large size: 22.5 inch seat width, 20.5 inch depth, 20 inch floor-to-seat, 31 inch back. It suits most users from about 5'6" to 6'1". Different proportions take you to the two-size Cambridge or the tall-backed Twilight models.

How far from the wall does the DayDreamer need to be?

22 inches fully reclined. The frame is 38 inches wide, so check the doorway path as well as the wall.

What is the difference between a 3 position and an infinite position lift chair?

Three-position chairs move seat and back together and stop at recline. The DayDreamer is 4-zone MaxiComfort infinite-position: footrest, back, headrest and lumbar each move independently and the chair reaches a sleep position.

What is the weight capacity of the DayDreamer?

375 lbs (170 kg). For 500 and 600 lb capacities see the Comforter Wide.

Does the DayDreamer have Twilight?

No. Twilight tilt is the separate tier: the PR-545 with Twilight and the Cloud with Twilight carry it. The DayDreamer is the head-and-back comfort pick without the tilt.

Does it have heat and massage?

Optional and factory-orderable with extended lead time; the standard comfort story here is the positioning system, not vibration.

Can funding help with a lift chair in Ontario?

ADP does not fund lift chairs. March of Dimes, Veterans Affairs and extended health plans are the practical routes; our funding page explains.

What is the warranty on the DayDreamer?

Lifetime on frame, lift frame and recline mechanism, 3 years electrical parts, 3 years mechanical labour, 1 year electrical labour.
