Description
The Golden Relaxer lift chair is Golden Technologies' original MaxiComfort recliner, model PR766, with a three-pillow waterfall back. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Three sizes cover the Relaxer: PR766-SMA Small, PR766-MED Medium, and PR766-LAR Large.
Golden's Canada sheet rates all three sizes 400 lb (181 kg). This is 2-zone MaxiComfort, not a 3-position chair. AutoDrive 3.0 stores Zero Gravity, TV Watching, Sitting, and Sleeping. Twilight is not on this chair.
Who this lift chair is for
This lift chair is for someone who wants MaxiComfort infinite positioning with a waterfall back they can adjust by hand, without a powered headrest. Families usually call us when a biscuit Cloud feels too bucketed and they still want two-zone recline.
It is not a 3-position value chair. That is the Golden Comforter PR-531 or the Pride Essential LC-106. If you want the Cloud bucket on the same 2-zone platform, see the Golden Cloud PR-510.
- 2-zone MaxiComfort, made in the USA
- 400 lb (181 kg) in Small, Medium, and Large
- Three-pillow waterfall back and extra-wide chaise pad
MaxiComfort positioning
MaxiComfort is Golden's infinite recline. The two comfort zones are lower body and upper body. Each zone moves on its own from AutoDrive. Golden's Relaxer card names four programmable buttons: Zero Gravity, TV Watching, Sitting, and Sleeping. The waterfall pillows can be shifted by hand for neck and lumbar. They are not powered zones.
Size and wall space
Golden's Canada sizing chart prints Small as 5' to 5'3" (152 to 160 cm), Medium as 5'4" to 5'10" (163 to 178 cm), and Large as 5'11" to 6'2" (180 to 188 cm). Medium and Large need more wall than Small. We confirm the fit in the showroom.
PR766-SMA: seat 18.5 by 19.5 inches (47 by 50 cm), floor 19.5 inches (50 cm), back 26 inches (66 cm), arm 6 inches (15 cm), overall 34 by 41.5 inches (86 by 105 cm), wall 21 inches (53 cm), extension 43 inches (109 cm). Footrest extension is not on Small.
PR766-MED: seat 20.5 by 20.5 inches (52 by 52 cm), floor 20 inches (51 cm), back 28.5 inches (72 cm), arm 5 inches (13 cm), overall 36 by 44.5 inches (91 by 113 cm), wall 26 inches (66 cm), extension 44 inches (112 cm). Footrest extension is a Golden option.
PR766-LAR: seat 22.5 by 22.5 inches (57 by 57 cm), floor 22 inches (56 cm), back 29.5 inches (75 cm), arm 5.5 inches (14 cm), overall 38.5 by 48 inches (98 by 122 cm), wall 27 inches (69 cm), extension 47 inches (119 cm). Footrest extension is a Golden option.
Golden Relaxer specifications

Colour and size options
Ask us for Small, Medium, or Large and for the Tucker SofTouch colour you want. Golden's Canada standard five are Calypso, Camel, Hazelnut, Shiraz, and Sterling. Crossover fabrics carry a Golden upcharge. Heat and massage and the footrest extension (Medium and Large) are options, not colours.
3-position, MaxiComfort, or 4-zone
Golden's Canada lineup is a comfort-zone ladder, not a Pride VivaLift clone. A 1-zone chair is a 3-position lift chair: the back and footrest travel together on a two-button hand control. Our 1-zone Goldens are the Comforter PR-531, the Comforter Wide, the Elara, the Aurora, and the Austin.
A 2-zone chair adds MaxiComfort so the back and footrest travel on their own. That is the Cloud PR-510, the MaxiComforter PR-535, and the Relaxer.
A 4-zone chair keeps MaxiComfort and adds a powered headrest and powered lumbar: the Cloud Plus, the EZ Sleeper Slim, the Dione, and the Rhea. Twilight is a fifth zone on chairs we already sell, starting with the Golden PR515 Cloud with Twilight. None of the chairs on this Golden Classic set is a Twilight chair.
Funding help for a lift chair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund lift chairs, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs, and a lift chair's lift mechanism may qualify as a medical expense on a Canadian tax return when prescribed. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this lift chair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the hand control before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a lift chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased lift chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Lift chairs are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Golden manufacturer warranty
Golden warrants the chair frame, lift frame, and recline mechanism to the original purchaser for life against breakage from defective materials or workmanship. Labour on those parts is subsidized for three years. Electrical parts (hand control, motor, transformer, control box, heating pad, massage unit) are covered for three years, then prorated in years four through seven. Electrical labour is subsidized for one year. The warranty is residential only. It does not cover misuse, non-residential use, or exceeding the printed weight capacity. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
What Size Lift Chair Do I Need?
The Golden Relaxer lift chair is sold in Small, Medium, and Large. Small (PR766-SMA) has an 18.5 inch (47 cm) seat and 21 inches (53 cm) from the wall. Medium (PR766-MED) has a 20.5 inch (52 cm) seat and 26 inches (66 cm) from the wall. Large (PR766-LAR) has a 22.5 inch (57 cm) seat and 27 inches (69 cm) from the wall. All three are rated 400 lb (181 kg). We confirm the fit in the showroom.
How Far From the Wall Does a Lift Chair Need to Be?
The Golden Relaxer lift chair needs 21 inches (53 cm) from the wall in Small, 26 inches (66 cm) in Medium, and 27 inches (69 cm) in Large when it is fully reclined. Medium and Large need more room than the Cloud SME.
What Is the Difference Between a 3 Position and an Infinite Position Lift Chair?
A 3-position lift chair moves the back and footrest together through sit, TV, and recline. An infinite-position Golden MaxiComfort chair moves them on their own, so the person can sit up with the legs out or lie flatter. Golden's 4-zone chairs add a powered headrest and lumbar on top of that MaxiComfort motion. Twilight, sold on other Golden pages, adds a fifth tilt zone.
What Is the Weight Capacity of the Relaxer?
The Golden Relaxer lift chair is rated 400 lb (181 kg) on Golden's Canada sheet, Small, Medium, or Large. Stay at or under that rating.
What Fabrics Can I Choose?
The Golden Relaxer lift chair uses Golden Tucker SofTouch fabrics with Stain Defense. The Canada standard five are Calypso, Camel, Hazelnut, Shiraz, and Sterling.
Does the Relaxer Have a Waterfall Back?
The Golden Relaxer lift chair has a three-pillow waterfall back. The pillows can be shifted by hand. They are not powered headrest or lumbar motors. Powered headrest and lumbar start on Golden's 4-zone chairs.
Does It Have USB?
The Golden Relaxer lift chair does not include a USB port on Golden's Canada sheet. If you need USB on a 2-zone Golden, ask us about another model in the ladder.
Can Funding Help With a Lift Chair in Ontario?
Funding support for a lift chair in Ontario depends on the person's situation and assessment. Westin Healthcare works with funding programs every week. Start on our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 before you buy.
What Is the Warranty on the Golden Relaxer?
The Golden Relaxer lift chair carries Golden's lifetime coverage on the chair frame, lift frame, and recline mechanism for the original purchaser, three years on electrical parts, then a prorated schedule through year seven. Mechanical labour is subsidized for three years. Electrical labour is subsidized for one year. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
