Description
The Silvalea Walking Sling is a padded harness for standing and walking on a loop carry bar. Silvalea Ltd makes it. Savaria Patient Care lists it. Westin Healthcare quotes it and fits it in Brampton and across the Greater Toronto Area.
This is the padded Walking Sling with underarm padding and groin straps. The Medcare Walking Sling is a different vest with detachable leg harnesses. WalkingBelt is a small paediatric torso belt, not a lift sling. This page is the loop walking harness. It does not use clip or E-clip fasteners. If the carry bar is a Human Care mushroom fastener, see the Human Care Full Body Sling E-clip instead.
Who this sling is for
This sling is for a person who is taking part in standing and walking with a caregiver and a loop lift. Savaria recommends some weight-bearing ability, plus good head, trunk, and hip control. The caregiver applies it from a seated position. Confirm the plan with a clinician or our staff before first use.
- Gait practice and standing on a Handicare or Savaria loop carry bar
- Homes and care rooms that already use a loop-type spreader bar, including a coat-hanger four-point hoist
- A person who needs a padded underarm harness rather than a Medcare vest-and-leg walking sling
- Users inside 600 lb (272 kg), limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling
What you get
You get one Silvalea Walking Sling in the size on the quote: the padded polyester harness, the underarm padded rolls, the adjustable tapes, the groin straps with removable comfort covers, the clunk-click buckles, and the four shoulder straps. A lift is sold separately.
The harness glides down the back with the label facing out. The person's arms sit over the padded sections. Two clunk-click buckles close at the chest. Groin straps come between the legs. The four shoulder straps hang on the carry bar. After a short raise, the caregiver can lower the person back to the chair to fine-tune the fit before the walk continues.
Sizing
Savaria prints an A, B, C, and D chart for Extra Small through XXL. A is the seated torso girth. B is a seated vertical measure printed as a minimum. C is the sling width at the hanger. D is the sling body height. Those measures are a guide. Confirm the size with a clinician or our staff before first use. A sling that is too large can let the person slip.

Silvalea Walking Sling specifications

The harness has underarm padded rolls, adjustable tapes, and groin straps with removable comfort covers. Medium M921503-M is 38-1/4 to 46 in at the torso. Wash at 95 C (203 F). Tumble dry on low heat, max 50 C. Inspect straps, buckles, and seams after every wash.

Care and laundering
Close all hook-and-loop before the sling goes in the washer. Wash at 95 C (203 F) with a non-biological detergent. Tumble dry on low heat, max 50 C. Do not iron. Follow the tag on the sling you receive. Inspect fabric, seams, buckles, comfort covers, and straps after every wash. Take the sling out of service if anything is worn or the label cannot be read.
Store it dry and clean with the hook-and-loop closed so the fabric does not snag.
Delivery in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team can deliver this sling across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area, on its own or with a Handicare or Savaria lift setup. We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a sling first. For a scheduled drop-off or a fitting, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works.
This is a small carton. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods can apply when it ships without a lift. If it travels with a patient lift, the lift is oversized and White-Glove Delivery is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Attachment and compatible lifts
The Silvalea Walking Sling is a loop sling. Four shoulder straps seat on a loop-type spreader bar or carry bar, including the coat-hanger four-point hoist Savaria names for this sling. It does not use clip fasteners and it does not use Human Care E-clips.
Silvalea states that loop straps belong only on a loop-type bar, and that this article is for a suitable loop lift. On our floor those loop carry-bar hooks sit on the Handicare C450, the Handicare C625, the Handicare A450, the Handicare AP300 portable motor, the Savaria M-Series ceiling lift, and the two-point SlingBar on the Handicare Carina 350. Shop related styles in walking support slings.
The finished session is limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling. A Carina 350 stays inside 350 lb even though this sling is 600 lb. A 450 lb motor is the limit on a C450 or A450. Confirm the bar type before the first walk.
If the person needs a seated transfer sling, start with the Handicare Universal Sling. If the job is the Medcare vest with detachable leg harnesses, stay with the Medcare Walking Sling.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the sling needs work, you call the shop that sold it, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department.
Silvalea manufacturer warranty
Silvalea warrants its slings for 12 months from the date of purchase. We handle the claim with you. Inspect the sling before every use and replace it when the cloth, seams, buckles, or straps show wear.
Frequently asked questions
What model is this?
It is the Silvalea Walking Sling, listed by Savaria Patient Care. Medium is M921503-M. Extra Small through XXL follow the same M921503 size letters.
Is this a loop sling or a clip sling?
Loop. Four shoulder straps on a loop-type spreader bar or carry bar. It does not use clip fasteners or Human Care mushroom E-clips.
What is the safe working load?
600 lb (272 kg) on every size. The finished system is limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling.
Which size should I order?
Start with the torso chart, then confirm with a clinician or our staff before first use. Medium M921503-M is the typical adult starting point. We will match the selector to one manufacturer article.
How is this different from the Medcare Walking Sling?
This page is the padded Silvalea harness with underarm padding and groin straps. The Medcare Walking Sling is a different vest with detachable leg harnesses and its own 402510-402515 codes. WalkingBelt is a small paediatric belt, not a lift sling.
Does it fit a C450, A450, or Carina 350?
Those Handicare motors use loop carry-bar hooks, which is the attachment class this sling is built for. It also fits the C625, the AP300, and the Savaria M-Series ceiling lift. Confirm the bar on your motor and stay inside the lowest working load. A Carina 350 stays inside 350 lb.
How do I put it on?
Apply it from a seated position. Glide the harness down the back with the label facing out. Place the arms over the padded sections. Fasten the two chest buckles. Fit the groin straps. Hang the four shoulder straps on the carry bar. We will walk through the first application with you.
Does the person need to bear weight?
Savaria recommends some weight-bearing ability, plus good head, trunk, and hip control. A clinician should confirm that this is the right sling before first use.
Can I lift someone from a lying position?
This harness is applied from a seated position. It does not have a head support, so it is not the sling for a supine lift.
How do I wash it?
Close the hook-and-loop. Machine wash at 95 C (203 F) with a non-biological detergent. Tumble dry on low heat, max 50 C. Do not iron. Inspect straps and buckles after every wash.
Does funding cover a sling in Ontario?
Slings follow the funding path of the lift they are used with. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will check the Handicare or Savaria lift and the sling together.
