The Handicare Tri-Turner Sling is a triangular sling for turning a person in bed into a side-lying rest. Handicare makes it. Savaria Patient Care lists it. It is designed solely for turning. It is not a lifting transfer sling. Westin Healthcare quotes it and fits it in Brampton and across the Greater Toronto Area on a Handicare loop carry bar.
This is not a full positioning sling and it is not a seated Universal. If the person needs to leave the bed, start with the Handicare Universal Sling. If the care plan calls for a leave-under sheet that can also do a lateral transfer, see the Medcare Repositioning Sling.
Who this sling is for
This sling is for a person who needs help to roll in bed onto their side, when a full positioning sling is not the right tool but a supported side-lying rest still matters. Handicare writes that it suits a person with a mild ability to take part in a lateral roll. It is used in acute care, long-term care, home care, and bariatric care. It is not a sit-to-stand sling and it is not a hygiene sling with a commode opening.

What you get
You get one triangular sling in the size and fabric on the quote, or a case of 10 disposable slings. Dual triangles and padded foam support the back. Each sling has four loop straps for the lift hooks and a sewn-in Velcro hook-and-loop strap that fastens to the bed frame so the sling stays put during the turn.
Three fabrics ship on this card:
- Poly: padded polyester with an anti-microbial coating and a closed weave made for strength. 450 lb (204 kg).
- Spacer: multi-directional stretch that wicks moisture. 625 lb (283 kg). This is the only fabric Handicare says may stay under the person, after a clinician documents that choice.
- Disposable: liquid-repellent non-woven polyester for one patient, sold as a case of 10. 450 lb (204 kg). Do not wash it. Light soiling can be spot cleaned.

Handicare sells Standard, Large, and Bariatric in each fabric. Confirm the size with a clinician or our staff before first use. Poly footprints below are for 507782, 507783, and 507784.

Handicare Tri-Turner Sling specifications
These figures are for the Handicare Tri-Turner family on the current Savaria card and the Handicare instruction sheets, not a positioning sling and not a seated Universal. The specification tab holds the stored values.
Safe working load is 450 lb (204 kg) on Poly and disposable, and 625 lb (283 kg) on Spacer. The finished system is limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the carry bar, and the sling. Attachment is loop only. A sewn-in Velcro strap anchors to the bed frame. Reusable slings wash in a laundry bag at 80 C (176 F). Disposable slings are for one patient and are not laundered. Reusable life is up to 4 years, depending on use, care, and laundering.
Attachment and compatible lifts
The Tri-Turner Sling is a loop sling. Handicare says its loop-style slings fit the complete range of Handicare carry bars on Handicare lift systems. Four straps go on the lift hooks, with the bar parallel to the person's back. It does not use a clip bar, a stud bar, or a Human Care E-clip / mushroom bar. On our floor, Handicare loop carry-bar hooks sit on the Handicare C450, the Handicare C625, and the Handicare A450, and on the two-point SlingBar of the Handicare Carina 350. Confirm the bar type before the first turn. A 450 lb motor limits the system to 450 lb even when the Spacer sling is 625 lb. A Carina 350 limits the system to 350 lb.
Shop related styles in specialty slings and positioning slings. For a seated loop sling, stay with the Universal. For a leave-under transfer sheet, stay with the Medcare Repositioning Sling.
Care and laundering
Reusable Poly and Spacer: put the sling in a laundry bag, then wash at 80 C (176 F). The family is polyester. Inspect loops, the bed-frame strap, seams, and the label after every wash. Take the sling out of service if anything is worn or the label cannot be read.
Disposable: do not wash. It is for one patient. Light soiling can be spot cleaned. Discard it if you find a tear or a serious defect.
Only the Spacer fabric is for leave-in-place use. Poly and disposable stay out from under the person after the turn. A clinician should document a leave-in-place choice.

Handicare manufacturer warranty
Handicare warrants slings against defects in material or workmanship for 1 year from the date of installation or 18 months from the date of manufacture, whichever is shorter. We handle the claim with you.

Is this a loop sling or an E-clip sling?
Loop. Four straps go on a loop-type carry bar. A separate Velcro strap fastens to the bed frame. It does not use clip studs or Human Care mushroom E-clips.
Is this a lifting transfer sling?
No. Handicare writes that this sling should only be used for turning, not for lifting. It turns a person in bed into a side-lying rest. For a bed-to-chair lift, start with the Universal Sling.

Can the sling stay under the person?

Does it fit a C450, A450, C625, or Carina 350?
Those Handicare motors use loop carry-bar hooks, which is the attachment class this sling is built with. Confirm the bar on your motor and stay inside the lowest working load. A 450 lb motor is the limit on the C450 and A450. A Carina 350 is a 350 lb limit. A C625 is a 625 lb limit, still capped by a 450 lb Poly or disposable sling.
How is this different from a positioning sling?
A positioning sling is a full-body horizontal sling for supine work and boosting in bed. This page is the triangular Tri-Turner. It is for a supported roll onto the side when a full positioning sling is not the right tool.
How do I wash it?
Reusable Poly and Spacer: laundry bag, 80 C (176 F). Follow the label on the article you receive. Disposable: do not wash. It is for one patient.
Does a lift come with the sling?
No. The sling is quoted on its own. Ask us if you also need a Handicare loop-bar lift in the same quote.
Does funding cover a sling in Ontario?
