Description
The Hoyer Up is Joerns' non-powered stand aid. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes and care settings in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Joerns' spec sheet prints a safe working load of 440 lb (200 kg). The Joerns product-page spec table also prints 450 lb. This page uses 440 lb / 200 kg from the spec PDF and from the TSV description (440LBS).
Users grasp the middle bar and pull themselves up. A padded split seat swings out to load, then swings back to form a seat. Joerns says the person needs some weight-bearing ability, trunk strength, and the ability to take part. It is not a full-body sling lift and it is not the powered Elevate or Journey.
Who this stand aid is for
This is for a person who can still stand with help, stay at or under 440 lb, and use a grab bar rather than a sling. If the person cannot take their own weight, see the Hoyer Advance. If you want a powered stand aid, see the Hoyer Journey or the Hoyer Elevate.
- Sling-free sit-to-sit transfers when the person can participate
- A 24.8 in overall width for tighter rooms
- No-tools three-piece pack for storage and transport
Seat, base, and assembly
Joerns lists a swing seat that folds flat against the side arms, a contoured height-adjustable knee pad, and a mechanical foot pedal on the base. The unit is three pieces: base 43 lb, seat 21 lb, mast 8.8 lb. Total 72.8 lb.

How to buy, delivery and setup
The price is the lift. HST is extra. A Hoyer sling is sold separately unless the configuration you pick is a kit that names a cradle or scale. Westin's own team delivers and sets it up across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the controls and the emergency functions before we leave.
You are welcome to visit our Brampton showroom at Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive if you would rather see a lift first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743. Same-day delivery is offered through our patient lift rental service. Purchased lifts are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Floor and stand-aid lifts are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the lift is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund patient lifts, slings, or other lifting devices. ADP funds, on purchase only, at 75% of the approved price: manual and power wheelchairs, approved scooters, seating, and wheeled walkers for adults. OHIP does not reimburse these purchases.
Routes that can help when the eligibility criteria fit: Ontario Health atHome (call 310-2222), March of Dimes Canada for low-income applicants, ODSP, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and hardship programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 before you buy.
Warranty

Why does some Joerns copy say 450 lb?
