Description
The Hoyer Advance Electric is Joerns Healthcare's foldable aluminum floor lift. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Joerns' current product-page spec list prints a safe working load of 341 lbs / 155 kg. The 2025 spec sheet headline still says 340 lb / 155 kg. Use 341 lb / 155 kg. It is not 350 lb.
The boom is electric. The legs are swan-neck so the lift can get closer to a wide chair or commode. The mast folds without tools. Total weight with the power pack is 69.7 lb on Joerns' spec sheet.
Who this lift is for
This lift is for a person who needs a full-body transfer inside 341 lb, when a compact fold matters more than a 500 lb frame. If you need more capacity, see the Drive Levantar at 500 lb or the Handicare Carina 350. If the person can bear some weight, see the Hoyer Journey.
- Smaller homes that need a lift that folds for a closet or a car
- Transfers from the floor or onto a care bed, which Joerns lists on this model
- Anyone whose therapist named a Hoyer Advance sling, not a generic two-point bar
How it lifts
The Advance Electric is a passive floor lift. The caregiver opens the tapered legs, attaches a Hoyer sling to the six-point spreader bar, and uses the handset to raise the boom. Joerns says the lift is for a short-distance transfer after a risk assessment. The lift is not a transport device. Do not lock the casters while you are lifting.

Slings and spreader bar
Joerns fits a six-point spreader bar. The Advance is designed for the Hoyer sling range. Do not treat a generic two-point or four-point sling as a substitute. The sling is sold separately. Start at our full-body slings.
How to buy, delivery and setup
The price is the lift. HST is extra. A Hoyer sling is sold separately unless the configuration you pick is a kit that names a cradle or scale. Westin's own team delivers and sets it up across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the controls and the emergency functions before we leave.
You are welcome to visit our Brampton showroom at Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive if you would rather see a lift first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743. Same-day delivery is offered through our patient lift rental service. Purchased lifts are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Floor and stand-aid lifts are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the lift is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund patient lifts, slings, or other lifting devices. ADP funds, on purchase only, at 75% of the approved price: manual and power wheelchairs, approved scooters, seating, and wheeled walkers for adults. OHIP does not reimburse these purchases.
Routes that can help when the eligibility criteria fit: Ontario Health atHome (call 310-2222), March of Dimes Canada for low-income applicants, ODSP, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and hardship programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 before you buy.
Warranty
When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department.
