Description
The Joerns Hoyer Journey is a compact, folding sit-to-stand lift (stand aid). Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes and care settings in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The sling is sold separately. Joerns' current product-page spec list prints a safe working load of 341 lbs (155 kg).
This is a sit-to-stand lift, not a full-body Hoyer. Joerns says a sit-to-stand lift works for residents who can bear some weight. If the person cannot bear weight, see the Hoyer Advance.
Who it is for
The Journey is for a person who can still bear some weight and can be assessed for a standing or transport sling. Families usually call us when bathrooms and hallways are tight, or when the lift has to fold into a car or a closet. If you need a higher safe working load and do not need the fold, look at the Beka Nora at 440 lb or the Drive STSM450.
- Home or facility transfers from one seated surface to another when the person can bear some weight
- Tight spaces where a folding stand aid helps
- Users within Joerns' 341 lb (155 kg) safe working load
How it lifts
The Journey is a powered stand aid. An electric actuator raises an adjustable sling-attachment cradle. It folds without tools and stands on its own when folded. The Smart Monitor stores lift-cycle, overload, and service data. Joerns tests the lift to EN ISO 10535.

Slings
The Journey uses an adjustable loop cradle. Joerns names the Hoyer Standing Sling and the Hoyer Transport Sling. Clip stand-aid slings on Joerns' chart are for Elevate only. The sling is sold separately. See our sit-to-stand slings.
How to buy, delivery and setup
The price is the lift. HST is extra. A Hoyer sling is sold separately unless the configuration you pick is a kit that names a cradle or scale. Westin's own team delivers and sets it up across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the controls and the emergency functions before we leave.
You are welcome to visit our Brampton showroom at Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive if you would rather see a lift first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743. Same-day delivery is offered through our patient lift rental service. Purchased lifts are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Floor and stand-aid lifts are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the lift is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund patient lifts, slings, or other lifting devices. ADP funds, on purchase only, at 75% of the approved price: manual and power wheelchairs, approved scooters, seating, and wheeled walkers for adults. OHIP does not reimburse these purchases.
Routes that can help when the eligibility criteria fit: Ontario Health atHome (call 310-2222), March of Dimes Canada for low-income applicants, ODSP, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and hardship programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 before you buy.
Warranty
When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department.
