This is not the Savaria Stretcher Sling. That sibling is a Silvalea mesh stretcher with removable boards, a neck roll, and a waist support, in sizes S to XL at 600 lb. This page is the Medcare one-size polyester sheet, 47.5 in by 80.5 in, with an 8-point loop hook-up and a 1,000 lb family rating. It is also not a seated Universal sling. If the person sits for the transfer, start with the Handicare Universal Sling.
Who this sling is for
This sling is for a person who must stay supine for a full-body lift from a bed to a gurney or operating table. The fabric is made to stay under the person between transfers. It is not a sit-to-stand sling and it is not a hygiene sling with a commode opening.

What you get
You get the Medcare stretcher body in the model on the quote. Polyester 402450 is rip-stop fabric with antimicrobial protection. Disposable 600200 is the patient-specific breathable sheet for one person. Both are one size, 47.5 in wide by 80.5 in long, with an 8-point loop hook-up. Colour-coded loops let you keep the person level. A lift, a carry bar, and a seated sling are quoted separately.

Medcare Stretcher Sling specifications

The finished system is limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the carry bar, and the sling. One size is 47.5 in wide by 80.5 in long. Polyester is rip-stop. Wash polyester at a maximum of 165 F. Hang or tumble dry at a maximum of 175 F. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. Disposable sheets are not washed.
Attachment and compatible lifts
The Medcare Stretcher Sling is a loop sling. Medcare's instructions describe an 8-point hook-up that attaches to a 2-point or 4-point hook carry bar. They also state that Medcare loop-style slings are compatible with Medcare and other 2-, 4-, and 6-point hook carry bars. Use the colour-coded loops so the person stays level. On our floor, Handicare loop carry-bar hooks sit on the Handicare C450, the Handicare C625, and the Handicare A450, and on the two-point SlingBar of the Handicare Carina 350. Confirm the bar type before the first lift. A 450 lb motor limits the system to 450 lb even though the sling is 1,000 lb. A Carina 350 limits the system to 350 lb.

Care and laundering
Polyester 402450: machine wash in a soap solution at a maximum of 165 F, rinse well, and hang or tumble dry at a maximum of 175 F. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. Do not overload the dryer or park the sling against a direct heat source. Between uses you can spot-clean or spray-disinfect, then wash when the sheet is soiled. Inspect loops, seams, and fabric before every lift. Take the sling out of service if anything is frayed, torn, burned, or loosely stitched.
Disposable 600200: do not wash. Spot-clean or spray-disinfect between uses on the same person. Replace the sheet when it is soiled.

Does it fit a C450 or A450?
Those Handicare motors use loop carry-bar hooks, which is the attachment class this sling is built for. Confirm the bar on your motor and stay inside the lowest working load. A 450 lb motor is the limit on those two lifts.
Can it stay under the person between transfers?
Yes. Medcare makes this stretcher to be left under the person. Check the sheet before every lift and replace a disposable when it is soiled.
How do I wash it?
Polyester: wash at a maximum of 165 F, no bleach, no dry clean, then hang or tumble dry at a maximum of 175 F. Disposable: do not wash. Follow the label on the sling you receive.
