Description
The Quantum TRU-Balance Bariatric Power Tilt is the 600 lb power tilt seating system for the Quantum 1450 front-wheel drive bariatric base. Power tilt redistributes pressure and changes posture through the day without lifting the rider out of the chair, and at this capacity rating it is built for riders whom standard rehab seating does not safely carry. Westin Healthcare configures it with the 1450 base to an ADP-registered therapist's prescription and delivers across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
This page is for the power tilt seating system, priced by quote because it is ordered as part of the 1450 build. The base, the seating, the electronics and any cushion land on one order form, and the quote covers the whole prescription.
What power tilt does at 600 lbs
Tilt rotates the whole seat backward around a fixed axis, keeping the seat-to-back angle constant while shifting load away from the ischials and sacrum. For a rider at bariatric capacity, tilt is often the primary pressure-management tool in the plan of care, and the 1450's tilt system adjusts through a 20 to 32 inch seat width range and a 20 to 28 inch seat depth range as the therapist specifies.
On the 1450, Quantum pairs the tilt with the base's own bariatric engineering: front-wheel drive, swing arm suspension, up to 4.5 mph, intelligent braking with electronic regenerative disc brakes, and a 29.25 inch wide, 38.25 inch long footprint without front riggings with a 26.5 inch turning radius. The Canada sheet rates the package at a 600 lb maximum user weight.
- 600 lb weight capacity, rated on the Quantum 1450
- Adjustable seat width 20 to 32 inches, depth 20 to 28 inches
- Up to 4.5 mph with electronic regenerative disc brakes
- Front-wheel drive with swing arm suspension, for outdoor performance and tight-space manoeuvring
The Synergy seat is the alternative on the same base when the prescription calls for adjustable seating without power tilt. The two appear as the seating choice on the 1450 order form, and the assessment decides between them.
Which chair it fits
This tilt system is the Quantum 1450 configuration. Quantum publishes it for the 1450 only: the Edge HD family carries the 450 lb TRU-Balance 3 HD seating, including the iLevel HD lift option, and riders within 300 lbs sit on the Edge 3 family with the TRU-Balance 4 system. If the assessment puts the rider over the Edge HD rating, the 1450 with this tilt is the Quantum route.

The base figures in this table are the 1450's own Canada spec sheet values, printed here because the tilt only exists as part of that build. The base weighs 195 lbs before seating, runs two Group 24 70 Ah batteries at 52 lbs each, and charges on an 8 amp off-board charger.
Funding through ADP
Bariatric power chairs follow the same Assistive Devices Program route as the rest of the rehab line. The ADP-registered therapist's assessment establishes the capacity and positioning needs, the authorizer writes the base and the tilt on the form, and ADP can fund 75 percent of the approved price for eligible clients. We prepare the quote to that prescription, with the funding conversation and the configuration in one pass.

Frequently asked questions
What weight does this system carry?
600 lbs maximum user weight, per the Quantum 1450 Canada spec sheet. That rating belongs to the complete 1450 build with the tilt seating, not to the seating alone.
Which chairs does it fit?
The Quantum 1450 only. Quantum publishes this tilt as the 1450's bariatric seating option, in seat widths from 20 to 32 inches and depths from 20 to 28 inches.
Does it recline as well as tilt?
This configuration is power tilt. Recline opens the seat-to-back angle and is a different function; if the assessment calls for tilt and recline at 600 lbs, we raise it with Quantum Canada on the order, because the published 1450 seating rows are the tilt and the Synergy adjustable seat.
How big is the 1450?
29.25 inches wide and 38.25 inches long without front riggings, with a 26.5 inch turning radius. Front-wheel drive and swing arm suspension are what keep a bariatric base this manoeuvrable indoors.
What cushion goes with it?
The 1450 order form includes the cushion selection, and the TRU-Comfort 2 line appears on that form among the cushion options. The therapist sizes the cushion with the tilt, because pressure management works as a system, seat surface and tilt together.
Why is this page quote only?
The tilt is one line of a 1450 prescription that includes the base, electronics, seating and cushion. A stand-alone price on the seating would misrepresent the purchase, so the whole build is quoted together.
