Description
The EZ-Access Transitions Modular Entry Ramp is a high-strength aluminum threshold ramp sold in seven complete kits, TMER 1 through TMER 6. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It turns a raised doorway, a sliding glass door track, or a small landing into a 34 in (86 cm) rollable surface for a wheelchair, scooter, walker, or cane.
Each kit covers a published height window between 3/4 in and 6-1/4 in. Every kit includes the ramp sections for that height, a 1 in foot piece, and a pivoting top flap. EZ-ACCESS rates every size at 700 lb (318 kg).
Who this ramp is for
This threshold ramp is for a doorway or a small step whose measured rise sits inside one of the seven TMER windows. Families usually call us when a walker or wheelchair catches on a sill, and the rise is still too small for a 3-ft portable ramp.
If the rise is 3-1/2 in, EZ-ACCESS points you to the Transitions Angled Entry Ramp instead. For a one-piece rubber lip, see the Rubber Angled Entry Mat. For a porch or several steps, see the Gateway 3G portable ramp or the QRamp QR4.0.
- Doorways, sliding glass doors, and small raised landings from 3/4 in to 6-1/4 in
- A 34 in aluminum deck that will not rust or corrode
- A flap you can leave on or off so a sliding-door track stays clear
Which thresholds this ramp fits
Measure the height of the sill or step, then pick the kit whose window contains that number. Each kit moves about a quarter inch either way with the pivoting flap. A taller kit can also be assembled at a lower height by leaving a section out.
- TMER 1: 3/4 in to 1-1/4 in
- TMER 1.5: 1-1/4 in to 1-3/4 in
- TMER 2: 1-3/4 in to 2-1/4 in
- TMER 3: 2-3/4 in to 3-1/4 in
- TMER 4: 3-3/4 in to 4-1/4 in
- TMER 5: 4-3/4 in to 5-1/4 in
- TMER 6: 5-3/4 in to 6-1/4 in
A 3-1/2 in threshold sits between TMER 3 and TMER 4. EZ-ACCESS sends that height to the leg-adjustable Angled Entry Ramp. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will match the rise before you buy.
Surface and build
The Transitions Modular Entry Ramp is high-strength aluminum with an extruded slip-resistant surface. It works indoors or out. Sections hook together and are joined with the screws in the kit. Pre-drilled holes sit at the top and bottom for anchoring. EZ-ACCESS does not put anchoring hardware in the kit, so plan wood or concrete fasteners that fit the surface you have.
The pivoting flap is 1.79 in by 34 in and ships in every kit. Install it so it rests on the threshold, or leave it off so the ramp butts the sill and stays out of a sliding-door track.
EZ-Access Transitions Modular Entry Ramp specifications
These figures are from the current EZ-ACCESS TMER technical specifications (21174, 11-04-2022). The specification tab holds the stored values. Use the sheet when they fight.
Capacity 700 lb (318 kg) on every kit. Width 34 in (86 cm). Flap 1.79 in x 34 in. Weights: TMER 1 3 lb (1.4 kg), TMER 1.5 5 lb (2.3 kg), TMER 2 5.5 lb (2.5 kg), TMER 3 8 lb (3.6 kg), TMER 4 11 lb (5.0 kg), TMER 5 15 lb (6.8 kg), TMER 6 20 lb (9.1 kg). Usable length with flap runs from 6.67 in on TMER 1 to 31.64 in on TMER 6. Lifetime Limited warranty. Made in the USA.
Choosing a size
Use Size for TMER 1 through TMER 6. Measure the threshold first. The right kit is the one whose window contains your measurement. The flap ships in every kit and is optional to install.
Suitcase, trifold, threshold, or modular
A suitcase or trifold ramp is for a step or a vehicle, not a door sill. See the Suitcase Advantage Series and the Trifold Advantage Series. This Modular Entry Ramp is the aluminum threshold kit. The Angled Entry Ramp is the aluminum threshold with adjustable legs, used when the rise sits between TMER windows or the surface is uneven. A full modular system for a porch is the QRamp QR4.0.
Funding help for a wheelchair ramp in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund ramps, so plan around other routes. The March of Dimes Canada Home and Vehicle Modification Program is the main Ontario funding source for home accessibility changes like ramps, and Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), the Ontario Renovates program in some municipalities, extended health plans, and community organizations can also help. A ramp may also qualify as a home accessibility or medical expense on a Canadian tax return in some situations. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Frequently asked questions
What Length Of Ramp Do I Need?
For the EZ-Access Transitions Modular Entry Ramp, measure the height of the threshold and pick the TMER kit whose window contains that height. Length follows the kit: about 6.67 in with the flap on TMER 1, up to 31.64 in with the flap on TMER 6. This is a threshold kit, not a porch-length ramp.
How Steep Can A Wheelchair Ramp Be?
The EZ-Access Transitions Modular Entry Ramp uses the slope built into each TMER kit. Stay inside the kit window and inside the incline limit in the wheelchair or scooter owner's guide. For a longer rise, EZ-ACCESS publishes 1:6, 1:8, 1:10, and 1:12 calculator ratios on its portable and modular ramps. Confirm the ratio with local code.
Do I Need A Permit For A Wheelchair Ramp In Ontario?
A permit for a wheelchair ramp in Ontario is a municipal question. A small interior threshold kit is often treated differently from an outdoor structure. Check with your local building department, and call (905) 451-7743 if you want us to talk through what you measured.
My Threshold Is 3-1/2 Inches. Which Kit Fits?
None of the seven EZ-Access Transitions Modular Entry Ramp windows covers 3-1/2 in. EZ-ACCESS recommends its leg-adjustable Angled Entry Ramp for that height. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will quote the TAER size that reaches 3-1/2 in.
Is The Top Flap A Separate Purchase?
No. The pivoting flap ships in every EZ-Access Transitions Modular Entry Ramp kit. Installing it is optional. Leave it off if it would sit in a sliding-door track.
Does It Work With Sliding Glass Doors?
Yes. The EZ-Access Transitions Modular Entry Ramp can rest the flap on the threshold or leave the flap off so the door track stays clear.
How Is It Assembled And Anchored?
EZ-Access Transitions Modular Entry Ramp sections hook together and are joined with the screws in the kit. Holes are pre-drilled at the top and bottom. EZ-ACCESS does not supply the anchors. Use fasteners that match wood or concrete at the door.
What Is The Weight Capacity?
The EZ-Access Transitions Modular Entry Ramp is rated at 700 lb (318 kg) on every size from TMER 1 through TMER 6. Stay at or under that rating, and stay inside the rating of the device that will use the ramp.
Can I Use A Taller Kit On A Lower Step?
Yes. The EZ-Access Transitions Modular Entry Ramp is modular, so you can leave a section out and run the kit at a lower height. The kit whose own window contains your measurement is still the best fit.
What Warranty Does It Carry?
The EZ-Access Transitions Modular Entry Ramp carries a Lifetime Limited warranty from EZ-ACCESS for the original purchaser. Westin Healthcare handles the claim with you.
