Description
The Handicare Comfort Care Sling with Head Support is a spacer-fabric seated transfer sling with a sewn-on head support. Savaria Patient Care lists it for floor lifts and ceiling lifts. It holds the trunk, thighs, and head, and it sits the person more upright than many other slings. Westin Healthcare quotes the family in Brampton and fits it across the Greater Toronto Area.
This is the head-support sibling of the Comfort Care sling we already sell without head support (8E4401 Medium with hip strap). Use this listing when the person needs the sewn-on head support. It is a loop sling. It does not use clip or E-clip fasteners. If the carry bar is a Human Care mushroom fastener, see the Human Care Full Body Sling E-clip instead.
Who this sling is for
Comfort Care with head support is for a person who needs a full-seat sling, extra head and neck support, and a more upright seated transfer. Handicare makes it only in spacer fabric so it can stay under the person after the lift, which helps when a chair is tight and taking the sling out is hard. Apply it and take it off only while the person is lying on their back. This is not a sit-to-stand sling, and it is not a toileting sling on the sizes in this picker.
- Seated transfers from bed to chair on a Handicare or Savaria loop carry bar
- A person who needs the sewn-on head support during the lift
- Leave-in-place use on spacer fabric, after a clinician records that choice
- Users inside 625 lb (283 kg), limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling
What you get
You get one Comfort Care sling with sewn-on head support in the article on your quote. The body is black spacer polyester with a plastic stay in the head-support panel. Loops are colour-coded and elastic. The seat is closed: there is no commode opening on 8E4x30 or 8E4x31. Midline leg straps tuck into a spacer pouch between the thighs when they are not in use. Hip straps come only on the 8E4x31 articles. A lift is sold separately.
Handicare keeps decorative stitching and thick seams off this sling so the fabric stays simple against the skin. The same colour loop must be used on both sides. For an upright sit, use the short loops at the shoulders and the long loops at the legs.
Sizing
Handicare prints a nominal inch chart for the head-support family. Those measures are a guide within about 1 inch. Spacer sizing is also on the sling tag. Confirm the size with a clinician or our staff before first use.
| Size | Article | Length A | Upper width E | Hip width G | Head support K | SWL |

Handicare Comfort Care Sling with Head Support specifications
These figures are for the current Comfort Care head-support family, not the no-head-support Comfort Care we already stock, and not the Universal sling. The specification tab holds the stored values.
Every size is 625 lb (283 kg). Fabric is black spacer polyester. Attachment is loop. Head-support height K is 17-3/4 in on Child through Extra Large. Medium 8E4430 is 51-3/4 in long and 37 in at the hips. The no-head-support Medium on the sibling listing is a shorter article with its own length. Expected lifetime is up to 4 years, depending on use, care, and laundering. Inspect loops and seams after every wash and discard the sling if you find tears or serious defects.
Sizes and options
Use the Size selector to pick the factory article on your quote:

- 8E4630: Junior
- 8E4530: Small
- 8E4430: Medium
- 8E4330: Large
- 8E4230: Extra Large

- 8E4431: Medium, hip strap
- 8E4331: Large, hip strap
- 8E4231: Extra Large, hip strap
This listing is quote-only. The sling on your quote is the article you pick. A commode opening is a different Comfort Care code and is not on this selector. Ask us if that opening is required.
Care and laundering
Put the sling in a washing bag before it goes in the washer, so the agitator does not wear the loops or fabric. Wash at 80 C (176 F). Follow the tag on the sling you receive. Inspect fabric, seams, stays, and loops after every wash. Compare it to a new sling if you are unsure.
Delivery in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team can deliver this sling across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area, on its own or with a Handicare lift setup. We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a sling first. For a scheduled drop-off or a fitting, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works.
This is a small carton. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods can apply when it ships without a lift. If it travels with a patient lift, the lift is oversized and White-Glove Delivery is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Attachment and compatible lifts
The Comfort Care Sling with Head Support is a loop sling. Colour-coded elastic loops seat on a Handicare or Savaria carry bar. It does not use clip fasteners and it does not use Human Care E-clips.
Savaria lists it for floor lifts and ceiling lifts. Handicare states that its loop slings fit its complete range of carry bars. On our floor that is the Handicare C450, the Handicare C625, the Handicare A450, the Handicare AP300 portable motor, the Savaria M-Series ceiling lift, and the two-point SlingBar on the Handicare Carina 350. Shop related seated styles in universal slings and full-body slings.
The finished transfer is limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling. A Carina 350 transfer stays inside 350 lb even though this sling is 625 lb. Do not put this sling on a sit-to-stand lift. Do not put it on a Human Care mushroom bar.
If the person does not need head support, stay with the Comfort Care sling we already stock (8E4401 Medium with hip strap, and the rest of that no-head-support family). If you want a seated loop sling with a commode opening, start with the Handicare Universal Sling.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the sling needs work, you call the shop that sold it, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department.
Handicare / Savaria manufacturer warranty
Handicare prints an expected lifetime of up to 4 years, depending on use, care, and laundering. Ask us for the warranty that ships with your article. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
What model is this?
It is the Handicare Comfort Care Sling with Head Support, listed by Savaria Patient Care. Medium without a hip strap is 8E4430. Hip-strap Medium is 8E4431. Child through Extra Large follow the same 8E4x30 / 8E4x31 pattern.
Is this a loop sling or a clip sling?
Loop. Colour-coded elastic loops on a Handicare or Savaria carry bar. It does not use clip fasteners or Human Care mushroom E-clips.
What is the safe working load?
625 lb (283 kg) on every size. The finished system is limited by the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling.
Which size should I order?
Use the inch chart as a starting point, then confirm with a clinician or our staff before first use. Spacer sizing is also on the sling tag. We will match the selector to one manufacturer article.
Does it fit a C450, A450, or Carina 350?
Yes. Those Handicare motors use loop carry-bar hooks. It also fits the C625, the AP300, and the Savaria M-Series ceiling lift. It does not fit a Human Care E-clip bar. A Carina 350 transfer stays inside 350 lb.
How is this different from the Comfort Care sling we already sell?
The Comfort Care we already stock has no sewn-on head support. This listing is the head-support sibling. Same spacer fabric, same 625 lb rating, same supine application. Pick this card when the person needs the head support.
Can it stay under the person after the transfer?
Yes, because it is spacer fabric. Handicare says only spacer slings should be left in place. A clinician should record that choice. Apply and remove the sling only while the person is supine.
Does it have a commode opening?
Not on the articles in this selector. The seat is closed to keep pressure off the sacral area. A commode opening is a different Comfort Care code. Ask us if that opening is required.
How do I wash it?
Put it in a laundry bag and wash at 80 C (176 F). Follow the sling tag. Inspect loops, stays, and seams after every wash.
Does funding cover a sling in Ontario?
Slings follow the funding path of the lift they are used with. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will check the Handicare or Savaria lift and the sling together.
