Who this sling is for
Savaria describes this sling as a supportive everyday transfer sling for people who need the back and head held during the lift. Divided legs help the caregiver apply the sling in a chair or on a bed. It is for loop carry bars, not clip bars and not Human Care E-clip bars. It is not a sit-to-stand sling.

What you get
Each article is a divided-leg high-back sling with colour-coded loops, full-length removable stays in the back, and padded leg sections. Savaria offers two fabrics. Structured polyester is the everyday choice. Polyester mesh is the bathing and hygiene choice, because water drains and the sling dries faster. An optional detachable elasticated chest support is named on the product. We will confirm whether that strap ships with your size when we write the quote.

Sizing
Savaria prints the same A, B, C, and D chart on both fabrics. A is the seated torso girth. B is the seated back height. C is the sling width at the hanger. D is the sling back length. Those measures are a guide. Confirm the size with a clinician or our staff before first use.

Care and laundering
Savaria designs the sling for routine laundering and tumble drying. The product data for these codes names a wash of 85 C / 185 F and tumble dry on low heat, maximum 50 C. Follow the label sewn on the sling you receive. Remove the stays before washing if the label says to. Inspect loops and seams before the next lift.

Attachment and which lifts this fits
The Universal High Back Sling is a loop sling. Savaria prints colour-coded loops so caregivers can record the same loop choice in the care plan. It does not use clip fixings. It does not use Human Care E-clips.
On our floor it belongs on a loop carry bar: the Handicare C450, the Handicare C625, the Handicare A450, or the two-point SlingBar on the Handicare Carina 350. Shop the family in universal slings, full-body slings, and divided-leg slings. Do not put this sling on a Human Care mushroom bar or on a sit-to-stand clip bar.
If you want the commode-aperture Universal instead, stay with the Handicare Universal Sling. Tell us if the person needs the arched-head mesh model (M921500). That is a different Savaria card.

Savaria manufacturer warranty
Savaria Patient Care's current Universal High Back card does not print a simple year-count warranty. Ask us for the warranty that ships with your article. We handle the claim with you.

Is this the same as the Handicare Universal Sling?
No. The Handicare Universal Sling is a different family with a commode opening and 517, 8A, and M921501 codes. This high-back sling has removable stays, a 600 lb rating, and its own part numbers. See the Handicare Universal Sling if that is the sling you already use.
Is this a loop sling or a clip sling?
Loop. Colour-coded loops on a Handicare or Savaria carry bar. It does not use clip fixings or Human Care mushroom E-clips.

Yes, those Handicare motors use loop carry-bar hooks. It also fits the Carina 350 SlingBar. It does not fit a Human Care E-clip bar.
Should I pick polyester or mesh?
Pick polyester for everyday dry transfers. Pick mesh when the sling will be used for bathing or hygiene, because the open weave drains and dries faster.
Does it have head support?
Yes. The high back supports the head and trunk. Full-length removable stays stiffen that back. A detachable elasticated chest support is an option on the product. Tell us if the person needs that strap.
