Description
The Spex SuperShape Back is Sunrise Medical's extra-supportive Spex wheelchair back for more complex trunk shapes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Shape Technology and a triple-layer cube cell system are how Sunrise describes the contour.
This is a quote-only configured back. The 4 cm seat-depth figure on the CA card is printed with Quad Mount hardware only.
Who this back is for
The Spex SuperShape Back fits a person whose seating therapist wants more contour than Standard or Comfi. Two pad densities ship in the box. A seating therapist should confirm this step. This page does not give clinical positioning advice.
- Triple-layer cube cells
- Two pad densities included
- 200 / 300 lb (90 / 136 kg) bands on the CA card
Cubes, pads, and cover
The Spex SuperShape Back hides the cell system under an expansion-fabric cover so the outside still reads as a Spex back. Sunrise prints that the expansion cover is there so contouring does not trade away skin protection. Two densities of contouring pads come with every back.
Mount hardware
The CA card prints 4 cm of seat-depth adjustment with Quad Mount hardware. That figure is not claimed here for Single or Dual mounts. Hardware is still selected on the order. The Spex back owner's manual prints round canes from 0.75 inch (19 mm) to 1 inch (26 mm).
Spex SuperShape Back specifications

Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every product qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Service and warranty
When something on the seating needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Sunrise Medical Spex warranty
The Spex back owner's manual prints 24 months from purchase on the back support, cover, and hardware for the original purchaser. General wear, punctures, tears, and burns sit outside that term. Sunrise notes that Canadian terms can follow provincial funding rules. We handle the warranty claim with you.
