Description
The Savaria Trapeze Mounting Frame MC7 and MC9 (manufacturer code Q6731) is the part that attaches a trapeze to the bed. Span prints it as the trapeze mounting frame in the Encore range and as the trapeze bed mounting bracket in the ReadyWide range; it is the same code and the same job under two labels. Westin Healthcare supplies and fits Span bed parts in Brampton and across the Greater Toronto Area.
This is the mount, not the trapeze. It is half of a pair, and the half that has to match your bed.
You need two parts, not one
Savaria sells the trapeze as a bar and a mount under separate codes. The bar is universal across the Span range. The mount is specific to the bed family, and this one is for MC7 and MC9.
| Bed family | Mount | Bar you also need |
|---|---|---|
| Encore MC9 | Q6731, this product | Q6730 universal trapeze bar |
| Advantage ReadyWide MC7 | Q6731, this product | Q6730 universal trapeze bar |
| Advantage QD1000 | Q6733, not this product | Q6730 universal trapeze bar |
| Rexx and Rexx Fast | Q6622 or Q6722, not this product | Q6730, or the Rexx code Q5302 |
If you have an Encore or a ReadyWide, the pair you want is this frame plus the Savaria universal trapeze bar, Q6730. Ordering the frame on its own leaves you with a mount and nothing to put in it. Tell us the bed model when you order and we will put both lines on the quote.
Span's own manuals treat them as one accessory, listing "Trapeze - Patient Helper Bracket and Bar" as a single optional item with a single weight. Both bed brochures print the two codes on adjacent lines. The manufacturer clearly intends them to arrive together.
Which beds this fits
Savaria specifies this frame for MC7 and MC9. That means:
- Fits: Encore MC9 beds, including the ReadyWide, battery backup, and USB charger builds sold as the Span Encore package. Span's Encore item-code table prints it as the trapeze mounting frame.
- Fits: Advantage ReadyWide MC7 beds, including MC7W, MC7WM, MC7WL, MC7WML, and the Plus builds. Span's ReadyWide item-code table prints it as the trapeze bed mounting bracket.
- Does not fit: the Advantage QD1000, which takes the Q6733 patient helper trapeze mounting bracket.
- Does not fit: the Rexx and Rexx Fast, which take the Q6622 patient helper bracket or the Q6722 dual socket trapeze bracket.
Savaria does not say either way whether this frame is offered on the Span Weigh Scale bed, model MC7WSML. If that is your bed, call (905) 451-7743 and we will confirm with Savaria before you order rather than assume it from the MC7 in the model name.
Savaria trapeze mounting frame specifications
Savaria publishes the code, the description, and the bed fitment, and does not publish this frame's weight, dimensions, material, or mounting position. Rather than fill those rows from a dealer listing, this table carries what is confirmed.
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Manufacturer code | Q6731 |
| Type | Trapeze mounting frame, also printed as trapeze bed mounting bracket |
| Compatible beds | Encore MC9 and Advantage ReadyWide MC7 |
| Used with | Q6730 universal trapeze bar, sold separately |
| Bracket and bar weight | 43 lb combined, as listed in the Span owner manuals |
| Classification | The trapeze is an applied part per ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1:2005 and CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60601-1-08 |
| Warranty | 1 year |
The 43 lb figure is the combined weight of this frame and the bar together, as Span lists them as one accessory in the bed owner manuals. It is a handling and load-allowance figure. It is not the weight of the frame alone and it is not a load rating.
For scale, that pair is the heaviest accessory Span lists for these beds. The same manual table puts the head end assist rails at 23 lb a set, the three position assist rail at 11 lb, the head and foot boards at 27 lb a standard set, the bed expanders at 31 lb, the 4 inch bed extender at 4.5 lb, and the transport dollies at 21.5 lb.
What the trapeze system is rated to hold
A straight answer: Span does not publish a safe working load or a user weight limit for its trapeze in any brochure or owner manual we have. So we do not quote one, and a figure found on a marketplace listing belongs to a different manufacturer's free-standing trapeze and does not apply here. If a rating decides your order, call (905) 451-7743 and we will get it from Savaria in writing first.
What Span does publish is the bed's safe working load, and it is a total that includes the patient, the accessories, the options, and the bedding.
| Bed | Safe working load | Maximum patient weight |
|---|---|---|
| Encore MC9 | 600 lb (272 kg) | 450 lb (204 kg) |
| ReadyWide MC7 Standard | 500 lb (227 kg) | 350 lb (159 kg) |
| ReadyWide MC7 Plus | 650 lb (295 kg) | Ask us |
The frame and bar are 43 lb of that allowance before anyone gets in the bed.
Mounting and maintenance
The Span owner manuals carry a warning about the accessory this frame carries, and it deserves to be read rather than paraphrased: follow the manufacturer instructions when mounting or assembling accessories, especially the Patient Helper Bar, because this bar could fall and result in injury or death.
That is why we would rather fit it than ship it and hope. Our technicians install these across Brampton and the GTA. Span also states that only authorized personnel should perform preventative maintenance on its beds, and that parts and accessories not provided by Span Medical Products Canada must not be used on a Span bed.
Once it is fitted, the fasteners are the thing to watch. Span asks that bed maintenance items be reviewed every 6 to 12 months depending on how hard the bed is used, and that all fasteners be tightened and seated completely within the limits of the specified maximum torque. On a bolted mount holding an overhead assist device, that check is the whole point of the service interval.
Clean it as you would the rest of the bed: a damp cloth or sponge with warm water and a mild detergent or a diluted neutral disinfectant, no solvents, alcohol, or petroleum products, and no high pressure washing.
Delivery and installation in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and fits Span bed parts across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a part first. To book a technician visit, call (905) 451-7743 or use the contact page.
With the bar, this is a heavy carton rather than a parcel. If it travels with a bed, the bed is oversized and White-Glove Delivery is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the bed or an accessory needs work, you call the shop that supplied it, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department and our technicians come to the home or the workplace.
Span manufacturer warranty
Span Medical Products Canada warrants beds and bed accessories against defects in workmanship and materials under normal and proper use from the date of initial delivery. Bed accessories carry one year, and that is the row this mounting frame sits in. Parts subject to wear carry one year. Electrical components, meaning the control box and the actuators, carry five years. The bed frame and all welds on steel structural components carry fifteen years, and that fifteen-year term is for the bed itself, not for this accessory, despite the word frame appearing in both names. The manufacturer warranty does not cover labour for service, and fitting parts from other manufacturers to a Span bed invalidates it. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
What is the manufacturer code?
Q6731. Savaria lists it as the trapeze mounting frame for MC7 and MC9. Span prints it as the trapeze mounting frame on the Encore and the trapeze bed mounting bracket on the ReadyWide. Same part, two labels.
Does the trapeze bar come with it?
No. The bar is a separate code, Q6730. Order both, or ask us and we will put both on the quote.
Will it fit my Advantage or Rexx bed?
No. The Advantage QD1000 takes Q6733 and the Rexx family takes Q6622 or Q6722. This frame is for MC7 and MC9 beds. Call us with the model and we will order the right mount.
Will it fit a weigh scale bed?
Savaria does not say either way for the MC7WSML. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will confirm it before you order rather than assume it from the MC7 in the model name.
What does the 43 lb figure mean?
It is the combined weight of this frame and the bar, as Span lists them together as one accessory in the bed owner manuals. It is a handling and load-allowance figure, not a capacity, and not the weight of the frame alone.
How much weight will the trapeze hold?
Span does not publish a safe working load or user weight limit for its trapeze, so we do not quote one. If a rating decides your order, call us and we will get it from Savaria in writing first.
Is the fifteen-year frame warranty the one that covers this?
No, and it is an easy mix-up because of the word frame. Span's fifteen-year term covers the bed frame and the welds on the bed's steel structure. This is a bed accessory and it carries one year.
Can our maintenance staff install it?
Ask us first. Span warns that the Patient Helper Bar could fall and cause injury or death if it is not mounted according to the manufacturer instructions, and states that only authorized personnel should perform preventative maintenance on its beds. Our technicians fit these across Brampton and the GTA.
What is the warranty?
One year, the Span bed accessory term. Labour for service is not part of the manufacturer warranty. Our service department handles the claim with you.
