Description
The Hoyer Stature is Joerns' vertical floor lift. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes and care settings in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Joerns prints a safe working load of 500 lb (227 kg) on the current Stature spec sheet.
Vertical lifting keeps the person on a straight path rather than an arc. Joerns pairs that with clip-style slings on a 4-point positioning cradle. A loop-style 6-point bar is an option. The Canadian list also sells the lift with a scale, and as a kit with the Adaptive Power Cradle and scale (HOY-STATURE-3).
Who this lift is for
This lift is for a person who needs a full-body transfer inside 500 lb, when a therapist has named clip slings or a true vertical mast. It is not the folding Advance, and it is not a sit-to-stand lift.
If you want loop slings and a lighter aluminum boom, see the Hoyer Presence. If 500 lb is not enough, see the Hoyer HPL700 or the Hoyer Calibre.
- Clip-style positioning on a 4-point cradle
- Floor pickup and higher-surface transfers, which Joerns lists on this model
- Powered base and a 500 lb rating on every configuration
Cradle, scale, and powered base
Joerns' Stature spec sheet lists a manual 4-point positioning cradle at 13.2 lb and a powered 4-point cradle at 19.8 lb. The Adaptive Power Cradle sheet (6190059 RevB) rates that cradle at 500 lb and says it can be field-fitted. The scale option does not, Joerns says, cut lifting height.
The product page lists two batteries and an offboard charger, and a powered base, as standard.
Hoyer Stature specifications
Figures from Joerns' Stature spec PDF (JHC_Hoyer-Stature.pdf) and the current Joerns Stature product page. The spec sheet's "legs open internal 25.1 in / 1230 mm" line contradicts itself. 1230 mm is 48.4 in, which is the product-page inside width. Use 48.4 in / 1230 mm.

Slings
The Stature's standard job is clip slings on a 4-point cradle. Loop slings need the 6-point bar option. Joerns writes that Hoyer slings and lifters are not interchangeable with other makers. The sling is sold separately. Start at our full-body slings.
How to buy, delivery and setup
The price is the lift. HST is extra. A Hoyer sling is sold separately unless the configuration you pick is a kit that names a cradle or scale. Westin's own team delivers and sets it up across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the controls and the emergency functions before we leave.
You are welcome to visit our Brampton showroom at Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive if you would rather see a lift first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743. Same-day delivery is offered through our patient lift rental service. Purchased lifts are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Floor and stand-aid lifts are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the lift is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund patient lifts, slings, or other lifting devices. ADP funds, on purchase only, at 75% of the approved price: manual and power wheelchairs, approved scooters, seating, and wheeled walkers for adults. OHIP does not reimburse these purchases.
Routes that can help when the eligibility criteria fit: Ontario Health atHome (call 310-2222), March of Dimes Canada for low-income applicants, ODSP, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and hardship programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 before you buy.
Warranty
When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department.
