Blake Gel Infused Foam Overlay 60 x 80

The Blake gel infused foam overlay is a 2 in gel-infused memory foam sheet that sits on an existing foam mattress. It is not a full replacement. Westin Healthcare sells the 60 x 80 in code GIO6080, delivers it, and places it on the mattress you already have for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.

Blake's live foam overlay page says the overlay is for prevention and maintenance of skin health and the treatment of early stage, non-complex pressure injuries. The 2021 overlays brochure uses the same early-stage wording. If the foam underneath is worn out, buy a replacement such as the Blake Infusion mattress instead of stacking foam on a failed core. Blake's Geo-Matrix gel overlay (GMO) is a different product: 1.5 in dry-polymer gel, sold here as the Geo-Matrix gel overlay.

Who this mattress is for

This overlay is for a person who already has a usable 60 inch foam hospital mattress and whose clinician has asked for a 2 in gel-infused foam layer on top for early-stage, non-complex skin care. It suits home care when a full Infusion or G-series replacement is not yet needed.

Families usually call us when a 60 inch foam still has life in it but the surface needs a cooler, more immersive top. Do not put this overlay on slats or on a spring deck. It needs a foam mattress under it, and that foam must be 60 inches wide.

Construction and how it works

The GIO overlay is a non-powered foam overlay. Blake's live foam overlay page lists construction as gel infused memory foam, height 2 inches, and a 4-way stretch, antimicrobial, fluid-proof, wipeable cover. The 2021 overlays brochure repeats the 2 in gel-infused memory foam build and adds a Cal. Bulletin 117 fire-retardant cover.

This is not Geo-Matrix gel. There is no pump. The overlay straps onto the existing foam.

This card is GIO6080 only: 60 inches wide by 80 inches long by 2 inches high. Match the overlay to the foam underneath, not to a wider deck. Blake also lists 36, 39, 42, and 54 inch standard widths. The overlay does not sit on the bed frame. It sits on a 60 inch foam mattress that already fits the frame. Add the 2 inch overlay height when you check side rails.
