Construction and how it works

Custom Care Convertible LAL is a hybrid convertible surface. Span America prints a Geo-Matt segmented foam topper, Heel Slope at the foot, a Safety Edge two-piece bolster, and Star Chamber air cylinders that run head to foot. The cylinders stay filled with air whether or not a control unit is attached.

The inner air-delivery cover uses an Air Diffusion Matrix. Savaria prints that this layer sweeps away moisture vapor before it can re-form as liquid, which is the microclimate path. The outer coverlet is vapor-permeable, wipes clean, and is zippered so it can be machine-laundered and air dried. Connect control unit 8410 at the foot end for low air loss, alternating pressure, lateral rotation, or powered flotation. A disconnect button returns the surface to its non-powered setting. Span America does not print a pressure-injury stage number on the live LAL page, so we will not add one.

This card is the 42 x 80 in LAL size only. Span America also makes 36 in lengths 75 / 80 / 84 in, an 84 x 42 in size, recessed-deck CL85V29, and CareAssist lengths. Those SKUs are not on this picker. Archived warehouse sizes stay unpublished.

SKU 74750 is 42 x 80 x 7 in. It sits on a 42 in hospital deck such as the Drive 15300LW bariatric 42 in. It does not sit on a 36 in deck such as the Drive Delta 1000. Confirm the deck width before you order. Recessed-deck frames need the CL85V29 cut, which is not this SKU.
