Savaria Pressure Fit Ceiling Track

(0 review)

The Savaria Pressure Fit Ceiling Track is a no-drill 4-post rail that presses the floor and a rigid ceiling so a portable ceiling-lift motor can run overhead. Westin Healthcare quotes the 2-post, 3-post, or 4-post frame and sets it up across Brampton and the GTA.

What does it fit? A Handicare portable motor the manufacturer names, such as the P-440 or P-300, staying at or under this 440 lb rail. Do not use a P-600. Ask us to check the trolley before we pair a Savaria Monarch or a Handicare AP300. This is not the FST-300 floor gantry.

Description

The Savaria Pressure Fit Ceiling Track is a no-drill rail that stands on the floor and presses into a rigid ceiling. It is the track, not the motor. Westin Healthcare is an official Savaria Patient Care dealer. We quote the 4-post as the default, deliver it, and set it up in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. A portable ceiling-lift motor hangs on the trolley. The motor and slings are separate lines on the quote.

This is not the Handicare FST-300. The FST-300 is a 300 lb two-post gantry that stands on the floor only and packs for travel. Pressure Fit needs a sound ceiling, rates 440 lb (200 kg), and opens from 7 ft to 9 ft. The 4-post layout adds a traverse rail so the motor can move in two directions over a bed.

Who it is for

This rail is for a person who needs an overhead transfer at or under 440 lb in a room that cannot take a drilled ceiling track, and whose ceiling is a fixed drywall or wood surface between 7 ft and 9 ft. Families and care homes use it when a landlord will not allow joist work, when the need may be temporary, or when they want an X-Y path over a bed without opening the ceiling. It is not the right rail when the ceiling is a T-bar, plaster, or a textured finish, or when the person needs more than 440 lb.

  • Bedrooms that need a 4-post X-Y path over the bed
  • Rooms that can take ceiling pressure but cannot take drilled track
  • 2-post or 3-post layouts when a single rail or an L-shaped path is enough

What you get and how it stands

Each order is a Pressure Fit frame in the post count you pick. Posts sit on rubber feet. A one-step height adjustment raises the top plates into the ceiling. A built-in level and a pressure gauge tell you when both sides of the gauge are in the green safe zone. The rail is high-strength aluminium with uprights about 1 in wide. Savaria prints that each piece weighs no more than 25 lb (11.3 kg). The 4-post frame is 100 lb as a system. The 3-post is 65 lb. The 2-post is 45 lb.

On a 4-post, two side rails and a traverse rail form an X-Y path over the bed. A swivel trolley and a lift trolley carry the portable motor. On a 2-post, one adjustable rail runs between two posts. Savaria names a bath adapter for transfers into a standard bathtub on the 2-post and 3-post packages. Multiple mounting points on the rail let the installer work around a light or another non-flush ceiling feature. Westin's own team handles delivery and setup through the delivery section below.

The motor, carry bar, and slings are not in the carton. The owner's manual says the empty frame is assembled, then the portable lift is mounted using that lift's own instructions. Handicare says one person can set up the FST-300. The Pressure Fit card says the frame assembles in minutes. That sentence is about the empty rail, not about how many people run a transfer.

Savaria Pressure Fit Ceiling Track specifications

These figures are for the Savaria Pressure Fit Ceiling Track. They come from Savaria's live card, the Handicare homecare brochure, and the Pressure Fit dimensions sheet. Ceiling rules, named motors, floor-to-ceiling pressure, life, and warranty come from owner's manual 753141. The specification tab holds the stored values.

Safe working load is 440 lb (200 kg). Height expands from 7 ft to 9 ft (2.1 m to 2.7 m). The 4-post is 6-8 ft wide and 7-10 ft long at 100 lb. The 3-post uses the same footprint at 65 lb. The 2-post is 7-10 ft wide at 45 lb. Floor-to-ceiling pressure is 80 to 100 lb. Expected product life is 7 years. Warranty on new track and accessories is 1 year from install or 18 months from manufacture, whichever is shorter.

Do not read the FST-300's 300 lb rating or 5-7.5 ft height onto this rail. Do not read a 450 lb figure from an older manual cover onto a current 440 lb card.

Call (905) 451-7743 and we will write the frame, trolley, motor, slings, and delivery as one quote.

Post configuration options

Use Post configuration to pick how many posts the room needs. The default is the 4-post (341510). Bath-mounted packages, wall-mounted 2-post packages, and C-300 trolley packages are quoted with the room. They are not extras on this picker.

Which motors this fits

Fit is the star fact on this rail. The owner's manual says the Pressure Fit System is designed to work with a Handicare portable lift such as the P-440 or the P-300, and that you must stay within the lower of the rail rating and the motor rating. The same manual says do not use a P-600. An older Prism Medical sheet says the rail is for Prism portable ceiling lifts. The installed working load is still the lowest rating among the 440 lb rail, the motor, the carry bar, and the sling.

For a current 440 lb portable motor, ask us about the Savaria Monarch and we will check the trolley before we pair them. For a 300 lb portable, see the Handicare AP300. A fixed motor that stays in a drilled track, such as the Handicare C450, is a different install. The C450 is also a 450 lb motor, so it is not the motor to hang on this 440 lb rail.

If you need a floor-only travel gantry at 300 lb, see the Handicare FST-300. If the person is over 440 lb and the room cannot take ceiling pressure, ask us about the Humancare Lena.

The carry bar lives on the portable motor, not on this rail. Use slings that motor's manufacturer approves. Shop Westin's matching sling styles: universal slings, full-body slings, toileting slings, and divided-leg slings. Sit-to-stand slings belong on sit-to-stand floor lifts, not on this overhead rail.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up the Savaria Pressure Fit Ceiling Track across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and walk you through the setup before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a ceiling-track system first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased equipment is delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

Ceiling-track systems are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the track is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service, repairs, and warranty

When something on the rail needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Savaria Pressure Fit warranty

The Pressure Fit owner's manual and the Handicare track-and-accessories warranty print 1 year from the date of installation or 18 months from the date of manufacture, whichever is shorter, on new track and accessories. Labour is not described as included. We handle the claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.

Frequently asked questions

How is Pressure Fit different from the FST-300?

The FST-300 is a 300 lb two-post gantry that stands on the floor and does not touch the ceiling. Pressure Fit presses the floor and a rigid ceiling, rates 440 lb, and opens from 7 ft to 9 ft. The 4-post adds an X-Y path over a bed. Pick FST-300 when you need a lighter travel rail. Pick Pressure Fit when you want more capacity and a ceiling-braced rail without drilling.

Does the quote include the lift motor?

No. Pressure Fit is the rail. The portable motor, carry bar, and slings are separate lines. A Westin quote lists them together so nothing is assumed.

Which motors can hang on this rail?

The owner's manual names a Handicare portable lift such as the P-440 or the P-300, and it bans the P-600. Stay at or under 440 lb. For today's motors we already sell, ask us to check the trolley on the Savaria Monarch or the Handicare AP300 before we pair them.

Do I need to drill the ceiling?

No. The posts press the floor and the ceiling. You still need a fixed drywall or wood ceiling that can take that upward pressure. The owner's manual does not allow T-bar, plaster, textured, or suspended ceilings.

What ceiling and floor does the room need?

A rigid drywall ceiling, or wood at least 1/2 in thick, with joists no more than 24 in on centre. The floor must be clean and no steeper than 0.5 degrees. On a thick carpet we check that the pressure gauge stays green. We confirm the room on the site visit before we book the install.

What is the safe working load?

Savaria's current card lists 440 lb (200 kg) for the rail. The transfer is limited by the lowest rating among the rail, the motor, the carry bar, and the sling. Do not plan a heavier transfer on this frame.

Which post count do I need?

4-post (341510) when you want an X-Y path over a bed. 3-post (341505) when an L-shaped path is enough. 2-post (341500) when a single rail between two posts will do. Send us the room size and we will confirm the code before we quote.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

Savaria names a bath adapter for transfers into a standard bathtub. That adapter is listed on the 2-post and 3-post packages. The owner's manual says not to expose the 2-post system directly to water. Ask us to plan the bathroom layout before we add a bath package.

What slings fit a Pressure Fit setup?

The slings that match the carry bar on the portable motor. Use universal, full-body, toileting, or divided-leg slings rated for that bar. Do not put a sit-to-stand sling on this overhead rail.

How tall a room does it need?

The posts expand from 7 ft to 9 ft. A room shorter than 7 ft or taller than 9 ft needs a different rail. The FST-300 covers 5 ft to 7.5 ft and does not use the ceiling.

Can the rail come down and move to another room?

Yes. The owner's manual has a disassembly sequence for the traverse rail, the adjustable rail, and the posts. The next room still has to meet the ceiling, floor, and height rules. We can move it for you on a booked visit.

What is the warranty?

New track and accessories: 1 year from install or 18 months from manufacture, whichever is shorter. Westin Healthcare runs the claim with you.
