Handicare HC1300 Lift Scale With Adaptor

(0 review)

The Handicare HC1300 Lift Scale With Adaptor is a patient lift weighing scale supplied with its mounting adaptor, catalogue code CSSP166, listed for the Prism Medical HC1300 lift. It lets a resident be weighed during a transfer they were having anyway, on the equipment already carrying them. Westin Healthcare stocks lift parts in Brampton and ships across the GTA.

Confirm this one before you order. This is a legacy part and the manufacturer publishes no specification sheet for it: the weighing capacity, graduation, display, power and calibration schedule are all unpublished, and we will not fill them in with numbers from a similar scale. Send us a photograph of your lift's product label, or call with the model and serial number, and we will confirm the fitment and the capacity with Savaria before anything ships. If you run a Span-America floor lift, the fully specified P11634 Digital Floor Lift Scale is the better-documented choice.

Description

The Handicare HC1300 Lift Scale With Adaptor is a patient lift weighing scale supplied with its mounting adaptor, catalogue code CSSP166, listed for the Prism Medical HC1300 lift. Westin Healthcare stocks lift parts in Brampton and ships them across the Greater Toronto Area.

Read this before you order. This is a legacy part for a legacy machine, and the manufacturer publishes no specification sheet for it. We can supply it, and we will tell you exactly what is and is not confirmed rather than fill the gaps with numbers from a similar-looking scale. Call (905) 451-7743 with the model and serial number off your lift and we will confirm the fit and the capacity with Savaria before anything ships.

What is confirmed, and what is not

Being straight about this is more useful than a spec table that reads well and might be wrong.

Confirmed

  • The code. CSSP166 is a current line on Savaria's 2026 catalogue.
  • What it is. The manufacturer's catalogue description is "Scale, with adaptor". It is a weighing scale for a patient lift, and the adaptor is supplied with it rather than ordered separately.
  • What it is listed for. The fitment recorded against CSSP166 is the Prism Medical HC1300 lift.
  • Who makes it. The code is catalogued under Handicare, with the original equipment attributed to Prism Medical Ltd. Prism was acquired by Handicare, and the Handicare patient-care range is listed in Canada by Savaria Patient Care.

Not published anywhere

  • The weighing capacity.
  • The graduation, the display type, or whether it has tare, hold and unit-switch functions.
  • The power source, battery type or battery life.
  • The dimensions and mass, and therefore how much lifting height the scale consumes when it is fitted.
  • Any calibration or recertification schedule, and whether a certificate ships with the serial number.

There is no manufacturer product page for the HC1300 lift or for this scale. That is not unusual for a machine of this generation, and it is not a reason to refuse to supply the part. It is a reason to confirm before you order rather than after.

Why a lift scale is worth having

Weighing somebody who cannot stand normally means a second transfer onto a chair scale, or a bed with load cells, or a number nobody actually took. A lift-mounted scale removes that step: the weight is read during a transfer the person was having anyway, on the equipment already carrying them.

That matters most where the weight is a clinical measurement rather than a record-keeping chore: fluid balance, dialysis, wound and nutrition programs, and medication dosed by body mass. A weekly weight that actually gets taken is worth more than a monthly one that keeps getting skipped.

What a scale never does is change what the lift can lift. The lift keeps the safe working load on its own product label, and the rating of the whole assembly is the lowest rating on it, counting the lift, the suspension, the scale, the adaptor and the sling.

How to order this one without guessing

  1. Find the product label on your lift and read the model and serial number off it. A photograph of the label is ideal.
  2. Call {phone} or send us the photograph.
  3. We confirm the fitment and the published capacity with Savaria in writing, and tell you what we get back, including if the answer is that Savaria cannot confirm it either.
  4. If the scale is going to feed a clinical record, ask us at the same time about calibration and whether a certificate is available. We will put that question in with the rest.

If it turns out this is not the right part for your machine, we will say so and point you at what is. That is a better outcome for both of us than a return.

Several rows above read "Not published by the manufacturer", and that is deliberate. There is no specification sheet for CSSP166 and no product page for the HC1300 lift. Rather than borrow a capacity or a graduation from a scale that looks similar, this page prints only what is recorded against the exact code and marks the rest as an open question for the order desk.

If a published figure matters to your decision, and on a scale it usually does, ask us before you order. We will get what Savaria can confirm and pass it on unedited.

Fitment

LiftManufacturerStatus
HC1300Prism Medical Ltd.The fitment recorded against CSSP166

That single fitment is the whole documented compatibility. Do not assume it fits another lift, even one from the same family, and do not assume another scale fits an HC1300. Lift scales are matched to a specific suspension by their adaptor, which is precisely why this one is supplied with an adaptor rather than on its own.

If you run a different lift

  • Span-America floor lifts take the Span America Digital Floor Lift Scale, code P11634, which is fully documented: 660 lb (300 kg) capacity, 0.2 lb / 0.1 kg resolution, backlit LCD, tare, hold, unit switch and overload warning. If your lift is a Span America machine, that is the better-documented choice and we would point you there.
  • Beka Carlo Alu floor lifts take a Beka retrofit kit matched to the capacity of the lift. The 185-rated builds take the Beka Carlo Patient Scale Conversion Kit.
  • Other lifts almost always have a scale option of their own. Tell us what you run and we will find it.

The name on your paperwork

Prism Medical Ltd. built the original equipment. Handicare acquired Prism and catalogues the part today, and Savaria Patient Care lists the Handicare patient-care range in Canada. Older service records may name any of the three, and older machines may also carry Waverley Glen paperwork. It is the same lineage, and a photograph of your lift label is the quickest way through it.

Related lift parts

Our lift parts shelf carries scales, spreader bars, cradles, batteries and chargers across the lift families we support, including several other lift-mounted scales. The complete machines are on the patient lifts hub.

Two other parts in the same family as this one, both for machines with Prism heritage:

If you are keeping an older lift running, call us with the model and serial number and we will tell you honestly what parts are still supported before you spend anything. Sometimes the answer is that the machine has had its life, and it is better to hear that early.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Small parts ship on our standard service. Westin's own team delivers across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area, and you are welcome to visit our Brampton showroom, or Mobility Specialties, our partner store in Etobicoke, if you would rather match the part to your lift in person.

Call (905) 451-7743 with the model and serial number off your lift and we will confirm the fit before the order goes out. Shipping terms are on the shipping policy page, and any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service, repairs, and warranty

When something on the lift needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not an overseas parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department, and our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Warranty on a legacy part

No warranty document is published for this code, and the manufacturer of record has changed twice since the HC1300 was current, so the terms that apply today have to come from Savaria against the order rather than from an old manual. Ask us and we will get them in writing and handle a claim with you.

Whatever a lift scale is fitted to, it becomes part of a load-bearing assembly, so it belongs in the lift's annual inspection alongside the suspension and the sling attachment. We can quote the inspection with the part, and our technicians will fit and function-test it on site.

Frequently asked questions

What is CSSP166?

It is a patient lift weighing scale supplied with a mounting adaptor. The manufacturer's catalogue description is simply "Scale, with adaptor", and the fitment recorded against it is the Prism Medical HC1300 lift.

What is the weighing capacity?

It is not published. No specification sheet exists for this code and there is no product page for the HC1300 lift. We would rather tell you that than print a number we cannot stand behind. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will ask Savaria and pass on exactly what comes back.

Will it fit my lift?

Only if you have a Prism Medical HC1300. That is the only recorded fitment. Lift scales are matched to a specific suspension by their adaptor, so a scale that fits one machine usually does not fit another. Send us a photograph of your lift's product label and we will check before anything ships.

Why is there so little information about it?

Because it is a legacy part. The HC1300 predates the current Savaria Patient Care catalogue, and manufacturer documentation for machines of that generation is often no longer published. The part is still a current line on the 2026 catalogue, which is why we list it. What we will not do is invent the missing figures.

Does fitting a scale change what my lift can raise?

No. The lift keeps the safe working load printed on its own product label. The rating of the whole assembly is always the lowest rating on it, counting the lift, the suspension, the scale, the adaptor and the sling.

Will it come calibrated, and does it need recertifying?

Not published for this code. If the weight is going into a clinical record, ask us when you order and we will put the calibration and certificate question to Savaria along with the capacity.

Is there a better-documented alternative?

If your lift is a Span-America floor lift, yes: the P11634 Digital Floor Lift Scale is fully specified at 660 lb (300 kg) with 0.2 lb resolution and a backlit LCD. That will not help you if you have an HC1300, because the two are not interchangeable, but it is the right answer for a lot of people who land on this page by mistake.

Is this a Prism or a Handicare part?

Both names are correct. Prism Medical Ltd. built the original equipment, Handicare acquired Prism and catalogues the code today, and Savaria Patient Care lists the range in Canada. Older records may also carry Waverley Glen paperwork.

Can you still service an HC1300?

Call us and let us look at it. Westin Healthcare runs its own service and repairs department and our technicians come to you. Whether every part on a machine of that age is still supplied is a question worth asking before you spend on one part, and we will answer it honestly.
