The Geo-Matrix Hybrid Low-Profile cushion is for a person whose seating therapist wants the Hybrid's gentle contour and a lower seat-to-floor height. Blake Medical says the 1 inch reduction helps with foot propulsion and the ideal seat-to-floor height. Blake indicates the Low-Profile, like the standard Hybrid, for moderate postural support and for help with stage 1-2 pressure injuries.

Fit and size

A wheelchair cushion should match the wheelchair seat, not a clothing size. Measure the seat width and seat depth on the chair. Blake's Hybrid manual says the cushion width should match the seat, may sit up to 1 inch (2.5 cm) wider against the arm supports, and the depth may run about 1 inch past the seat. The Blake logo faces the front left.

Gel, foam, and care

The Geo-Matrix Hybrid Low-Profile is a gel wheelchair cushion with a foam core. Blake prints the same construction as the standard Hybrid: closed-cell foam base, dual high-density foam core with a firm sacral shelf, and a cascading Pillow Top gel layer. The gel is a dry-polymer solid. It does not inflate and it does not leak like a fluid pouch.

Each cushion ships with a soft-touch outer incontinence-proof cover and an inner wipeable moisture-proof cover. Both covers machine wash to 60 C. Do not wring them. Lay them flat to dry. Do not use bleach. Do not wet the foam. Wipe the gel, then air-dry the cushion out of direct sun.
