What is the Geo-Matrix Gold?
It is a Blake Medical gel cushion for a wheelchair seat. The gel is a grid: two 1 inch blue layers and one 1 inch green layer on top. The drawing on this page is Blake's own picture of that stack. The cushion you receive is covered. Blake includes a soft outer cover that is incontinent-proof and an inner cover you can wipe.
Which sizes are in stock?
Three sizes, one price: 16 x 16 (one), 16 x 18 (one), and 18 x 18 (two). Blake's size codes are GG1616, GG1618, and GG1818. The stock record also carries catalogue code SESG00015. Other sizes exist on the same product record. An 18 x 16 and a 20 x 22 are costed differently and are not on the shelf, so do not use this price for those two. If you need a size we do not have, call first.
Who is it for?
Blake rates Gold to 250 lb (113 kg). It is the shorter Geo-Matrix gel cushion, at 3 inches, for someone who needs gel pressure redistribution and does not need the bariatric Bold. A therapist should match the size to the seat and the skin risk. This page does not replace that assessment.

How does it compare?
The Bold is 4.25 inches high, adds purple gel and a foam border, and is rated to 600 lb. The Silver is a different Geo-Matrix cushion. Gold is the 3 inch, 250 lb cushion. See the gel cushions page for the rest of the range. Blake has not published a Gold-only brochure we can attach.
