This rental is for a temporary home-care need where a full electric hospital bed has already been chosen. It suits a planned hospital discharge, recovery with a known end date, a visiting relative or a short trial before buying. Why choose a full electric bed?

Choose full electric when the care plan calls for powered bed adjustment instead of a manual setup. The standard package is a Drive Delta 1000 with a therapeutic mattress and half rails. Confirm the planned transfers and rail use with the care team, since the right bed position depends on the person and the room.

Will this bed fit the person and the room?

The verified limits are a 450 lb capacity, an overall size of 36 by 88 inches and a 36 by 80 inch sleep surface. The deck height is 12.5 to 21.5 inches depending on the casters. Measure the narrowest doorway, tightest turn and any stair opening before booking. These are assembled dimensions, not the dimensions of the largest piece carried into the home.

How does the rental work?

The rate is the total for the selected term, with a one-month minimum. The $500 deposit is refundable and separate from the rental charge. Delivery, installation and pickup cost $120. Alternatively, the bed can be collected from Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive in Brampton. HST is extra.

Call 905 451-7743 before the booked end date if the bed is still needed, so the extension can be confirmed. Rental inventory varies in brand and condition. The unit supplied will match the booked size and function rather than the photograph, and every item is cleaned and safety checked between rentals.

Should you rent or buy?

Renting is the clearer choice when the need is temporary and the end date is reasonably known. Four months totals $500 in rental charges before delivery and HST, while the refundable $500 deposit remains separate. If the need may continue beyond that term, compare the next extension with the current price of a Drive Delta 1000 purchase before deciding. First-month rental dollars can be applied to a new equivalent purchase within 30 days, but not to sale items.

What funding help is available in Ontario?

This rental is outside Ontario's Assistive Devices Program, and hospital beds and mattresses are outside the program whether rented or purchased. OHIP does not reimburse a private retail rental. How does delivery and setup work across Brampton and the GTA?

Westin Healthcare delivers, installs and later picks up the bed for $120. Alternatively, the customer can collect it in Brampton. We book a 2 to 3 hour arrival window for delivery day.
