Who is this rental for?

This rental is for a temporary care plan that specifically calls for an alternating pressure mattress. It may be considered when a person cannot reposition independently or spends long periods in bed, but the nurse, occupational therapist or other care professional should choose the surface category. This is medical equipment with a powered control pump, not a camping air mattress.

Should you rent it alone or with a hospital bed?

Choose the standalone rental when a suitable bed frame is already in the home and its fit has been confirmed. The standalone rate starts at $250 for one month. When Westin Healthcare is also supplying the hospital bed, the alternating pressure mattress is available as a $240 upgrade instead.

What power and noise should you plan for?

Plan for a power outlet beside the bed because the control pump runs continuously. The pump makes a low noise while operating, so consider where it will sit before the first night. Do not book this system if the household cannot keep the pump powered as required by the care plan.

Will it fit the existing bed?

The fit must be confirmed against the actual bed frame before booking. No mattress dimensions are published here because Westin Healthcare does not have a verified measurement for this rental. Tell us which bed is in the home, or add the mattress to one of our bed rentals so the two items can be checked together.

How does the rental work?

The standalone term begins at one month. A refundable $250 deposit is separate from the rental charge. Delivery, installation and pickup cost $120. Alternatively, the system can be collected from Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive in Brampton. HST is extra. The upgrade price is $240 when the mattress is added to one of our hospital bed rentals.

Call 905 451-7743 before the booked end date if the mattress is still needed, so the extension can be confirmed. Rental inventory varies in brand and condition. The supplied system will match the booked function rather than the photograph, and every mattress and pump is cleaned and safety checked between rentals.

Should you rent or buy?

Renting is usually the simpler choice when the pressure-care need is temporary or the care plan may change. Three months totals $710 in rental charges, while the refundable $250 deposit remains separate. If the need may continue, compare that total with the current price of a purchased alternating pressure mattress system before extending. First-month rental dollars can be applied to a new equivalent purchase within 30 days, but not to sale items.

What funding help is available in Ontario?

This rental is outside Ontario's Assistive Devices Program, and mattresses are outside the program whether rented or purchased. OHIP does not reimburse a private retail rental. How does delivery and setup work across Brampton and the GTA?

Westin Healthcare delivers, installs and later picks up the mattress and pump for $120. Alternatively, the customer can collect them in Brampton. We book a 2 to 3 hour arrival window for delivery day. Keep a power outlet available and tell us which bed frame the system will be used on before the booking is confirmed.
