Description
The Handicare Deluxe Hammock Sling is Savaria Patient Care's hybrid seated loop sling: Universal-style application with hammock-style divided legs. It supports the hips, sacral area, and thighs, and it has a small to medium commode opening. This card is the family without head support. Westin Healthcare quotes it in Brampton and fits it across the Greater Toronto Area on Handicare ceiling lifts and the Carina 350.
Westin already carries the head-support sibling as article 8H2430. Ask us for that article when the person needs support up to the shoulders and head, or for a floor pickup. This page is not the basic Hammock Sling. If you need a Human Care E-clip sling, that is a different attachment. See the Human Care Full Body Sling E-clip only when the bar is a mushroom fastener.
Who this sling is for
Savaria describes the Deluxe Hammock as a multipurpose hybrid for seated and semi-reclined transfers. Divided legs go on in a chair or in bed. Colour-coded loops let the care plan record the same hook-up each time. Built-in caregiver handles help guide the person. This is not a sit-to-stand sling, and it is not a clip or E-clip sling.
- Bed, wheelchair, commode, and toilet transfers when the person can sit with trunk support through the shoulders
- Loop carry bars on the Handicare C450, C625, A450, and the Carina 350 SlingBar
- Mesh/Poly for showering or a pool with the sling on, Spacer when a clinician wants a leave-in-place fabric, PolySlip when low-friction legs help the apply
Handicare's seated-sling applications that need head support (up from the floor, higher up in bed) belong on the 8H2430 head-support article, not on this card.
What you get
You receive one Deluxe Hammock article: the fabric, size, and hip-strap choice on the quote. Colour-coded shoulder and leg loops, divided leg supports, a small to medium commode opening, and caregiver handles on each side. A lift and a carry bar are sold separately. Hip straps are their own 8Hxx01 articles when the clinician wants extra hip control.
Mesh/Poly combines polyester mesh with a smooth polyester layer and non-absorbent padding on the inner legs, with an anti-microbial coating. Spacer is a multi-directional stretch knit with an internal air gap. PolySlip is a smooth stretch knit with low-friction nylon on the outer legs.
Sizing
Handicare prints one seated-sling height and weight guide for this family. Two people at the same height or weight can still need different sizes. If the person is over 400 lb, Handicare recommends a sling consultation. Confirm the size with a clinician or our staff before first use.
| Size | Mesh/Poly | Spacer | PolySlip | Height | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| XXS | 8H2700 | 8H4700 | 8H1700 | under 3 ft | under 70 lb |
| XS | 8H2600 | 8H4600 | 8H1600 | 3-4 ft | 70-110 lb |

| XL | 8H2200 | 8H4200 | 8H1200 | 6-7 ft | 400-480 lb |
Hip-strap articles use the same size letter with a 1 on the end (8H2401 is Medium Mesh/Poly with hip straps). Call (905) 451-7743 and we will match the selector to one manufacturer article.

Attachment and compatible lifts
The Deluxe Hammock Sling is a loop sling. Colour-coded loops seat on a Handicare carry bar. Short loops at the shoulders and long loops at the legs give a more upright sit. Use the same colour on both sides. It does not use clip or Human Care E-clip fasteners.
Handicare states that its loop-style slings are compatible with its complete range of carry bars. On our floor that is the Handicare C450, the Handicare C625, the Handicare A450, and the two-point SlingBar on the Handicare Carina 350. For a classic seated loop sling without the hammock legs, see the Handicare Universal Sling. Shop related styles in universal slings, toileting slings, and divided-leg slings.
Do not put this sling on a Human Care mushroom bar. Do not put it on a sit-to-stand thorax bar (MiniLift, Independent Lifter, ReTurn). The working load of the whole system is the lowest rating among the lift, the bar, and the sling.
Care and laundering
Wash the sling in a laundry bag at up to 80 C (176 F). Savaria also names routine tumble drying. Follow the label on the article you receive. Inspect loops, seams, and handles after every wash and before every lift. Discard the sling if you find tears or serious defects.
Only Spacer fabric may be left in place, and only after a clinician documents the risk assessment. Mesh/Poly and PolySlip should come off after the transfer.
Delivery in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team can deliver this sling across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area, on its own or with a Handicare lift setup. We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a sling first. For a scheduled drop-off or a fitting, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works.
This is a small carton. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods can apply when it ships without a lift. If it travels with a patient lift, the lift is oversized and White-Glove Delivery is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Service and warranty
When something on the sling needs work, you call the shop that sold it, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department.

Frequently asked questions
What model is this?
It is the Handicare Deluxe Hammock Sling, now listed by Savaria Patient Care. Codes start 8H. This card is the family without head support. Medium Mesh/Poly is 8H2400.
Is this a loop sling, a clip sling, or an E-clip sling?
Loop. Colour-coded loops on a Handicare or Savaria carry bar. It does not use clip fasteners or Human Care mushroom E-clips.
What is the safe working load?
Medium Mesh/Poly 8H2400 is 625 lb (283 kg). Mesh/Poly and PolySlip are 450 lb in XXS and XS, 625 lb in S, M, and L, and 1000 lb in XL. Spacer is 625 lb in every size. The finished system is limited by the lowest rating among the lift, bar, and sling.
Which size should I order?
Use the Handicare seated-sling height and weight guide as a starting point, then confirm with a clinician or our staff before first use. We will match the selector to one manufacturer article.
Does it fit a C450, C625, A450, or Carina 350?
Yes. Those Handicare motors use loop carry-bar hooks. The Carina 350 uses a two-point SlingBar. It does not fit a Human Care E-clip bar or a sit-to-stand thorax bar.
Does this sling include head support?
No. This card is the no-head-support family. If the person needs support up to the shoulders and head, or you are planning a floor pickup, ask us for the Deluxe Hammock with Head Support (8H2430 and its size and fabric siblings).
Can I leave it in the chair or in bed?
Only Spacer, and only after a clinician documents the risk assessment. Mesh/Poly and PolySlip should come off after the transfer.
How do I wash it?
Put it in a laundry bag and wash at up to 80 C (176 F). Savaria names routine tumble drying. Follow the sling label and inspect loops and seams after every wash.
Do I need the hip-strap article?
Only when the clinician wants extra hip control. Those codes end in 1 (for example 8H2401). The default 8H2400 has no hip straps.
How is this different from the Handicare Universal Sling?
The Universal is the classic seated loop sling we already sell. The Deluxe Hammock keeps that apply style and adds hammock-style divided-leg support under the thighs. See the Handicare Universal Sling if that simpler shape is the better fit.
