Description
What is the AquaSense toilet seat riser with hinge?
The AquaSense 770-630 is a white polyethylene riser that sits under your existing toilet seat and adds 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) of height. Drive Medical rates it to 300 lb (136 kg). The hinge lets you lift the seat and the riser together for cleaning, and when it is raised it leaves the bowl open.
It is not a new toilet seat. The AquaSense economy raised toilet seat, the AquaSense 3-in-1, and the AquaSense seat with lid replace the seat. This riser keeps the seat you already like.
Who is a hinged toilet riser for?
It is for a person who can use a standard toilet but finds the bowl too low for sitting down or standing up. The extra 3.5 inches shortens that drop. It also suits a household that wants the bathroom to look unchanged, because the riser hides under the seat that is already there.
If you need arms, a lock, or a seat that replaces a loose one, look through the raised toilet seats on this site instead of adding height under a seat that is already failing.
How does the hinge work?
The riser bolts under the existing seat on most standard toilets. The hinge lifts the seat and the riser out of the way so the bowl can be cleaned, and in the raised position it leaves the opening clear. Drive's sheet says the plastic parts are made using recycled materials. Before anyone uses it, the owner's manual says to check that the riser is securely attached to the bowl.
This page is the standard model, 770-630. Drive also prints an elongated hinge model, 770-631. Westin is listing the standard riser that is in stock. If the bowl is elongated, measure it before you order and call us rather than assuming this riser will match.

How does this compare with a raised toilet seat?
Choose this riser when the seat and lid you have are fine and you only need the bowl higher. Choose a raised seat when you want a new contoured seat, arms, or a lid that comes with the product.
The Drive hinged toilet seat riser is a different product. That one is the seat itself, in a regular or elongated shape, and Drive rates it to 250 lb. The AquaSense 770-630 goes under the seat you already own and is rated to 300 lb.

Care and warranty
Wipe the riser with a household bathroom cleaner and check the bolts stay tight. Drive's owner's manual (part 861-770630) gives a limited lifetime warranty to the original user against defects in materials and workmanship. It does not cover parts that wear out in normal use. Alterations, abuse, misuse, accidental damage, or rental void the warranty. In Canada, Drive prints the warranty line as 866-752-1363.
Does funding cover a toilet riser in Ontario?
The Ontario Assistive Devices Program does not pay for bathroom aids such as a raised toilet seat or this riser. A household may still ask an insurer or use a tax credit when the expense qualifies. Westin's Assistive Devices Program guide and funding pages say what those programs actually cover.
Does the AquaSense 770-630 replace my toilet seat?
No. It installs under the seat and lid you already have and adds 3.5 inches of height.
Will it fit an elongated toilet?
Drive's sheet says 770-630 fits most standard toilets. The elongated hinge model is 770-631, which is not this listing. Measure the bowl if you are unsure.
How much weight can it hold?
Drive rates the 770-630 to 300 lb (136 kg).
What warranty does it have?
Limited lifetime for the original user. Rental voids the warranty, and ordinary wear parts are not covered.
