Description
The SystemRoMedic FlexiMove is a handled sliding aid used to assist a transfer, a rise from sitting, or a move higher up the bed. The caregiver holds the handles rather than gripping the person, and the low-friction surface does the work that would otherwise be a lift. Westin Healthcare supplies it across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
FlexiMove has four handles in two different lengths. That is a deliberate design: the caregiver can pick the handle that lets them keep a good working stance instead of stooping over the bed.
What FlexiMove is for
The manufacturer states FlexiMove is used to assist transfer and repositioning in various situations, including transfers, raising, and repositioning higher up in bed. It genuinely covers both jobs, which is worth saying plainly because most products in this range do not.
That is different from a full-length tubular transfer slide, which goes under a lying person to move them between two surfaces and is removed afterwards. It is also different from a two-layer draw sheet system, which stays on the mattress for repositioning. If the task is one of those two specifically, tell us and we will send the right product rather than stretching this one. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the contact page.
Nylon or polyester velvet
Once you have settled the size, this is the only decision left in the range, and the manufacturer is clear about the trade.
- Nylon is an anti-slip material with a surface that is easy to disinfect. Choose it where the aid moves between people and infection control matters most.
- Polyester velvet is soft and comfortable. Choose it where the aid stays with one person and skin comfort matters more.
Both are the same size and the same rating in the 20 x 60 cm aid, so this is purely a hygiene versus comfort choice. Articles 3012 and 3030 are the nylon and polyester velvet versions of the identical product.
The range
Use the selector to pick the aid on your quote:
- FlexiMove, 20 x 60 cm, nylon, 4 handles (3012), the narrow anti-slip aid
- FlexiMove, 20 x 60 cm, polyester velvet, 4 handles (3030), the same aid with the softer inside
- FlexiMove, 102 x 43 cm, 4 handles (4011), a broad sheet for a wider contact area
- FlexiMove, 112 x 53 cm, 4 handles (4012), the larger broad sheet
The manufacturer does not print the inside material for the two broad sheets, so we confirm that with Savaria on request rather than assuming it matches the narrow ones.

| Visual inspection | Check seams and fabric regularly and after laundering; discard if worn or faded |
| Mechanical check | Press the buckles and handles and confirm they do not open or break under load |
The manufacturer does not print a wash temperature or a service life for FlexiMove, so neither is stated here. If your laundry needs a temperature on file, ask us and we will get it from Savaria in writing.
Checking a FlexiMove before use
This is a handled aid, so it carries a check the plain sliding sheets do not. The manufacturer asks you to apply pressure to the buckles and handles and verify they will not open or break under heavy loads. Do that as part of the routine inspection, not only when something looks wrong.
Alongside it, run the usual textile checks: inspect after every laundering, confirm the seams and material are free from damage, and check the fabric is not worn or faded. The manufacturer is direct about the outcome, which is that a product showing signs of wear must be discarded. A handle that lets go mid-transfer is the failure this check exists to prevent.
Delivery in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area, and we have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather handle one before choosing between nylon and velvet. Sliding aids ship as ordinary goods; terms are on the shipping policy page and any charge is confirmed on your order.
Service and warranty
Sliding aids are consumable textiles and are replaced rather than repaired. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department for the lifts and beds they work alongside. Ask us for the Savaria terms that ship with your order.
Frequently asked questions
How much weight can a FlexiMove take?
150 kg (330 lb). That figure is printed in both manufacturer manuals covering this range, so it applies to all four articles rather than varying by size.
Can I use FlexiMove to move someone up the bed?
Yes. The manufacturer names repositioning higher up in bed as one of its uses, alongside transfers and assisting a rise. That is what the handles are for.
What is the difference between the nylon and the polyester velvet version?
Only the inside surface. Nylon is anti-slip and easy to disinfect. Polyester velvet is soft and comfortable. Articles 3012 and 3030 are otherwise the same size and the same rating.
Why are there two handle lengths?
So the caregiver can choose the one that keeps them in a good working stance. Reaching across a bed on a short handle is how backs get hurt, and the longer handles exist to avoid it.
How do I know when to replace one?
Inspect it after every wash. Press the buckles and handles and confirm they hold. Check the seams and the fabric. If it is worn or faded, the manufacturer says to discard it, and that is the right call.
Do the large sheets come in nylon or velvet?
The manufacturer does not print the inside material for the 102 x 43 cm and 112 x 53 cm sheets, so we confirm it with Savaria before your order rather than assuming.
What else do you carry from this range?
The OneWaySlide allows movement in one direction only, and the EasyGlide is a rigid sliding board for seated transfers. Both are listed with their own sizes.
