Description
The Spex Wonderseat is Sunrise Medical's pediatric modular wheelchair seating system for Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It is sold as Wonderseat Space or Wonderseat Bounce, in Size 0 or Size 1.
This is a quote-only configured seat. It can be installed on folding, rigid, and tilt-in-space manual frames. It is not a Leckey classroom seat and it is not a single Spex cushion.
Who this seating is for
Sunrise writes Wonderseat Space for children who need moderate to high support, typically in a tilt-in-space wheelchair. Wonderseat Bounce is for low to moderate support, with fewer moving parts. Sunrise prints that Bounce is not an active-user system and that care should be taken if the child self-propels. A seating therapist should confirm Space or Bounce. This page does not give clinical positioning advice.
- Size 0: about 1-5 years, 7.9 kg (17.4 lbs)
- Size 1: about 4-11 years, 9.5 kg (20.9 lbs)
- User weight 47 kg (104 lbs) on both sizes
What comes in the system
The Spex Wonderseat uses a Constructa cushion with a movable ischial block so the well can move as the back grows. A shower-cap cover and an incontinence cover are standard. Arm supports are quick-release. The anterior trunk harness uses front-access clips. Hip-belt slots sit on a numbered plate. Head-support hardware is stemless on the back to cut rear clutter. Back height grows by loosening laterals and a central bolt on the dual shell.

Which pediatric seating
Stay with the Spex Wonderseat if the therapist wants this Spex pediatric package on a manual frame. The Leckey Mygo Seating System is Sunrise's other pediatric postural seat in this wave. A Spex cushion such as the Spex High Contour Cushion is a cushion only, not a full seat.
Funding help for a wheelchair cushion or back support in Ontario
This cushion or back support is an ADP positioning device category item. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of positioning devices such as cushions and back supports when they are prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist with an eligible mobility device, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every product qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers this pediatric seating system across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, check it against the wheelchair, and show you the cover and any hardware before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a sample first. For a scheduled in-home drop-off, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased seating is delivered on a scheduled date after the assessment and quote.

Service and warranty
When something on the seating needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Sunrise Medical Spex warranty
Sunrise Medical's Canadian Wonderseat card prints that warranty coverage can vary from one province to another depending on funding requirements. We handle the warranty claim with you and will read the Wonderseat owner's manual that ships with the system.
