Description
The Drive Titan is Drive Medical's front-wheel captain-seat powerchair, sold here as TITAN1618 (16 by 18 inch) and TITAN20CS (20 by 18 inch). Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The person drives with the joystick. Front-wheel drive puts the 10 inch drive wheels ahead of the seat so the chair can climb a small lip that a mid-wheel chair might catch.
Drive's current Canadian and US catalogues no longer list the Titan as a factory-order model. Call (905) 451-7743 to confirm availability before you plan around this chair; if it is gone, we will show you a comparable current power chair.
Drive lists a 300 lb weight capacity, a 4 mph top speed, and a 15 mile range on the U1 12V 35AH pair. Drive's order form says the chair comes apart without tools. The heaviest piece on that form is 54 lb. If you want mid-wheel turning instead of take-apart pieces, start with the Drive Titan AXS.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who fits Drive's 16 by 18 or 20 by 18 inch captain seat, stays at or under the 300 lb rating, and wants a full-size powerchair that can come apart for a car, truck, or van. Families usually call us when a folding travel chair feels small, but a van lift is more chair than they need.
If you want Drive's 20 inch mid-wheel turn, see the Titan AXS. If you want a chair that folds like a suitcase, see the Travel Buggy CITY 2 PLUS. The Titan is not a transport chair and it is not the Titan LTE.
- Front-wheel drive and a 25 inch Drive turning radius
- Tool-free take-apart for a car or van
- Drive 300 lb rating and 15 mile printed range
Design and build
The base is a front-wheel platform with 10 by 3 inch flat-free drive wheels, 6 by 2 inch solid casters, and anti-tip wheels. Drive prints 2.5 inches of ground clearance and a 6 degree climbing angle. Brakes are electromagnetic. Freewheel lets a helper push the base.
The captain seat is height adjustable, swivels, reclines, and has a fold-down back and a height-adjustable headrest. Armrests are padded, adjustable, and removable. The footplate flips up and changes height, depth, and angle. A positioning belt is included. The joystick mount changes length. Drive includes red and blue colour panels. The controller is a Dynamic Shark 40A.
Drive's order form lists a 68 lb base, a 44 lb battery pair, a 43 lb seat, a 54 lb heaviest piece when the chair is apart, and 155 lb total. No one should sit in the chair in a moving vehicle.
Drive Titan specifications
These figures are for Westin SKUs TITAN1618 and TITAN20CS. The specification tab holds the stored values. Drive's official order form lists 300 lb, 4 mph, 15 miles, a 25 inch turning radius, 2.5 inches of clearance, overall 40 by 25 inches, floor-to-seat 20.5 to 23 inches, two 24V x 200W x 3900 rpm motors, a 3A charger, and the U1 35AH pair.
Do not mix these numbers with the Titan AXS. That chair is mid-wheel, Linx 40A, 33AH, 19 miles, and 20 inch turn. Do not mix them with the Titan LTE. That chair uses 20AH batteries and a shorter printed range.
Warranty in Drive's Titan owner manual for the original purchaser is limited lifetime on the main frame, seat post, platform, and frame welds; 14 months on the electronics, joystick, motor and gearbox, electromagnetic brake, controller, and charger; and 6 months on the batteries.
Seat size and accessory options
Use Seat Size to set 16 by 18 or 20 by 18 inch. That is the choice that maps to TITAN1618 or TITAN20CS.
Seat Size
- 16 inch width by 18 inch depth captain seat, full back (TITAN1618)
- 20 inch width by 18 inch depth captain seat, full back (TITAN20CS)
Drive also catalogs 18 inch captain seats (TITAN18CS and TITANLB18CS). Ask us if you need 18 inch.
Use Accessories to add Drive elevating-legrest parts AE2500 and LK3JELR, arm bag AB1000, or cup holder AZ0060. Ask us which parts you need before you tick every line.
Funding help for a power wheelchair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a power wheelchair when the need is long-term and the chair is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every chair qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this power wheelchair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the joystick and the take-apart steps before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Power wheelchairs are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty

Drive manufacturer warranty

We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
How far will the Titan go on a charge?
Drive's order form and owner manual print 15 miles. Range changes with the person's weight, the ground, the battery's age, and how much you stop and start. Charge with the 3A offboard charger Drive supplies.
What batteries and charger does it use?
Drive lists a U1 pair, 12V x 35AH, 44 lb the pair, and a 3A offboard charger.
Will it fold into a car trunk?
It does not fold like a suitcase. Drive says it comes apart without tools so the pieces can go in a car, truck, or van. The order form prints a 54 lb heaviest piece. We can show you the take-apart at delivery. It is not approved as a seat inside a moving vehicle.
Can I take the Titan on an airplane?
Drive's North American Titan sheet and owner manual do not print an airline-ready claim. The batteries are U1 sealed lead acid, not the small lithium packs used on folding travel chairs. If you must fly, ask the airline before you book.
What is the difference between this chair and the Titan AXS?
This is front-wheel, 25 inch turn, Shark controller, 35AH U1 batteries, 15 miles, and tool-free take-apart. The Titan AXS is mid-wheel, 20 inch turn, Linx controller, 33AH batteries, and 19 miles.
What seat width do I need?
Use Seat Size for 16 by 18 or 20 by 18 inch. Measure the seated hip width and leave a little room on each side. Ask us if you need Drive's 18 inch captain.
What is the weight capacity?
Drive lists 300 lbs. Stay at or under that rating on both seats we sell.
What is the chair weight?
Drive's order form prints 155 lb total: 68 lb base, 44 lb batteries, 43 lb seat. The owner manual prints 151 lb. We print the order-form total and do not invent a third number.
What is the warranty?
Drive's owner manual: limited lifetime on the frame and welds, 14 months on electronics and drivetrain, 6 months on batteries. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
Who services it in Brampton?
Westin Healthcare. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the service and repairs page.
Can funding help with this chair in Ontario?
Some Ontario routes can help with mobility equipment. Eligibility depends on the person's situation and assessment. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
Can I rent a power wheelchair before I buy?
Westin Healthcare rents some mobility equipment. Ask us whether a power wheelchair can go out as a rental for your dates. Purchased chairs are delivered on a scheduled date.
