Description
Who is this mobility scooter rental for?
This rental suits a short recovery, a visiting relative, a trip within the GTA or a trial before buying. It is for someone who can safely control a medical mobility scooter but needs powered mobility for longer distances. The minimum term is one week, so it is not presented as a day rental.
Tell Westin Healthcare where the scooter will be used, how it will be transported and whether the person needs it indoors, outdoors or both. The rental fleet includes different brands and cosmetic conditions, and the unit supplied matches the size and function booked rather than the photograph.
Where can the scooter go, and where should it not go?
Plan the whole route before booking. Doorways, elevators, indoor turns, pavement, curb access and the place where the scooter will be stored all matter. The range per charge and weight capacity of the current rental unit are confirmed on the call, so do not plan a long trip from a photograph or an unverified model specification.
A mobility scooter is not a stair climber or a snow vehicle. Do not plan a route over stairs, high curbs, ice or packed snow. Buildings, shops, venues and transit providers can also set their own access and storage rules. Confirm the destination before relying on the scooter for that trip.
How will you transport the scooter?
Do not assume the available scooter folds, comes apart or fits a car boot. Westin Healthcare has not confirmed the heaviest piece for this mixed fleet. Before collection, tell us the vehicle and cargo opening, who will lift any pieces and whether the scooter must pass through an elevator or hotel doorway. We will confirm the transport configuration of the actual unit.
If a trip involves public transit, an airport or another carrier, check that provider's rules before booking. The scooter's width, battery details and transport method must match the unit being supplied, not a generic scooter guide.

How does the rental work?
Choose one week for $130, two weeks for $180, three weeks for $220 or four weeks for $265. A refundable $500 deposit applies. Rentals automatically extend unless you call to arrange the end of the rental, and weekly extensions are available after the first month. Call 905 451-7743 before the scheduled end date to confirm the next term or pickup.
Delivery, installation and pickup is $120, or collect from Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive in Brampton. HST is extra. Every scooter is cleaned and safety checked between rentals. The supplied unit matches the function booked, while its brand, appearance and condition may differ from the photograph.
Should you rent or buy a mobility scooter?
One week is $130 and four weeks is $265. The $500 deposit is refundable and is not the purchase price. Renting is useful for a defined short stay or while an approved purchase is being assessed. If the need is likely to continue beyond four weeks, request a purchase quote before extending so you can compare the next rental term with the selected scooter.
Rental dollars can be applied to a new equivalent purchase within 30 days under Westin Healthcare's rental program, but not to sale items. Compare mobility scooters to purchase and have the model fitted before deciding.
What funding help is available in Ontario?
This rental is not funded through ADP. ADP can fund up to 75 percent of the approved price of a purchased approved scooter after an assessment by an ADP-registered authoriser. Do not buy the scooter before that assessment and approval. Renting now while the funded purchase is assessed can cover a short-term gap, but the rental invoice itself is not the funded purchase.
OHIP does not reimburse a private retail rental. If this follows a hospital discharge, ask the social worker whether Ontario Health atHome can arrange suitable equipment through a contracted supplier, or call 310-2222 for an assessment.
How does delivery and setup work in Brampton and the GTA?
Delivery, installation and pickup is $120. Westin Healthcare books a two to three hour delivery window, and someone must be present. Customer collection is available from Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive in Brampton.
Before the booking is finalized, call 905 451-7743 with the route, storage location and transport plan. We confirm the actual scooter, charger and handling needs without inventing a delivery time, range, capacity, piece weight or charging time.
