N503AL is PUSH BAR on the Joerns list. UltraCare XT and WeCare manuals describe the Bed Transport Bar: it eases moving the bed when the bed is lowered onto its casters. Who this bar is for

This bar is for a caregiver who has to roll an empty Joerns UltraCare XT or WeCare down a hall or into a room. It is not a handle for moving a person in the bed. Joerns says those beds are not resident or patient transport devices.

EasyCare manuals in this wave did not list a transport bar. Ask us before you order N503AL for an EasyCare or a Care 100.

How Joerns says to use it

Install the bar to the supplied instructions. When you move the bed, push down and forward on the handle. Pushing up, or using the bar to lift the bed over a threshold, can disconnect it and you lose the bed. Two people on any slope, one at each end. Never use the bar on a slope steeper than ANSI and ADA accessibility. Remember: do not move the bed with a person in it.

How to buy, delivery and setup

The price is the kit. HST is extra. Westin Healthcare ships this bar from our Brampton showroom at Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive. If you already have the matching Joerns bed, we can fit the kit on a scheduled visit across Brampton and the GTA.

You are welcome to bring the bed model sticker into the showroom so we confirm the kit before it leaves. For a booked fit, call (905) 451-7743. Same-day delivery is the hospital bed rental path. Purchased kits go out on a scheduled date. Freight outside the GTA is quoted on the order. White-Glove Delivery inside Toronto and the GTA is on the shipping policy.

Funding help in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund hospital beds, mattresses or bed accessories. OHIP does not reimburse these purchases. When a Joerns kit needs work, you call the shop that fitted it. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Joerns prints the long term on the bed frame (EasyCare 4 years electrical, UltraCare XT 5 years electrical, WeCare 1 year electrical). DC batteries and pendants sit on a 90 day wear term on those warranty pages. Confirm the Joerns term that applies to this kit on your order. Wear from regular use sits outside the long frame term.
