Description

The Mobb Offset Cane is MOBB Health Care's black aluminum single-tip cane, item MHOCBL. MOBB prints a 300 lb (136 kg) rating, a foam offset handle, a rubber tip, a wrist strap, and push-button height. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. This is not a quad cane.

MOBB writes that the offset puts the user's weight directly over the shaft rather than behind the centre of gravity. That is MOBB's sentence. Westin does not give medical advice.

Who this cane is for

The Mobb Offset Cane is for a person who wants a single rubber tip under an offset foam handle, stays at or under MOBB's 300 lb rating, and wants a wrist strap on the handle. Families here usually call when a derby or a J crook is the wrong shape and they do not want a four-foot base.

  • Offset foam handle on a lightweight aluminum shaft
  • Single rubber tip and a wrist strap
  • 300 lb (136 kg) rating, black only on the current dealer cards

Fit and height

MOBB prints push-button height on this card. MOBB does not print a handle range or a user-height chart for MHOCBL. We will not invent one.

Stand upright in the shoes you will walk in, with your arms relaxed. Set the handle at your wrist crease so your elbow stays slightly bent when you hold on. Come into a Brampton or Toronto store if you want that height checked on the floor.

Handle, tip, and strap

The handle is an offset foam grip. The tip is a single rubber foot. MOBB writes that the rubber tip is anti-slip. A wrist strap is included. This shaft is not a four-point Mobb quad. Do not put a quad base on this cane unless MOBB names a matching tip for it. Bring the cane if you need a replacement tip matched.

Mobb Offset Cane specifications

Offset cane or quad cane

This is a single-tip offset cane. Stay here if you want MOBB's offset handle and one rubber foot. The Mobb Large Base Quad Cane is the wider four-point Mobb. The Mobb Small Base Quad Cane is the smaller four-point sibling. A Comfort-Plus offset with more colours is the Airgo Comfort-Plus Offset Cane.

Funding help for a cane or crutches in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund standard canes or crutches, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
