Joerns Elite-G 500 Mattress

The Elite-G 500 is Joerns Healthcare's gel-topped Canadian foam hospital mattress, sold beside the Deluxe 500 on Joerns' Canadian foam page. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It is not the US PrevaMatt series, and it is not the Deluxe 500 channeled foam core.

Joerns' Canadian foam page rates the family at 500 lb and lists lengths of 76, 80, and 84 in and widths of 35, 36, 39, and 42 in. Mattress weight averages 23 lb depending on configuration. Joerns recommends the line for prevention and treatment of up to Stage 2 pressure injuries. Fire lines on that page are TB 117-2013, TB 129, 16 CFR 1633, and BFD IX-11.

Who this mattress is for

This mattress is for a person at or under 500 lb who needs a foam hospital mattress with a gel-infused topper, on a Joerns or 36 in Drive deck, without moving to a powered air system. Families usually call us when a therapist has asked for Elite-G rather than Deluxe.

Size, width, and raised perimeter

Match the mattress to the sleep deck. 35 in is the usual Joerns EasyCare, UltraCare XT, or WeCare width. 36 in is the usual Drive homecare width. 39 in is Joerns Twin XL / CareWide. 42 in is Joerns UltraWide. 80 in is the usual length. 76 in and 84 in are the short and extended decks. We check the fit at delivery.

Flat SKUs (PEGF) are the even-top mattress. Raised-perimeter SKUs (PEGS) add Joerns' optional taller foam edge. That edge is not a metal bed rail. Canadian dealer SKU labels print flat at 6 in high and raised perimeter at 8 in high. Joerns.com does not print those heights.

This list has no 39 x 80 raised-perimeter SKU. Ask us if you need that edge on a 39 in deck.

How the mattress is built

Joerns prints open-cell memory foam for airflow, a firm perimeter for sitting and transfers, and optional raised perimeter for fall and entrapment help. Joerns says the surface meets the Hospital Bed System Dimensional and Assessment Guidance to Reduce Entrapment when it is used with a Joerns bed frame.

Liberty Care and Medics Mobility, both Canadian Joerns dealers, print the same Elite-G 500 construction: a high-density foam base, a 2 in gel-infused viscoelastic topper, a heel slope, articulation cuts, and a 2-way stretch zipper cover they call low shear, fluid proof, stain resistant, antibacterial, and antifungal. Joerns' official Canadian photo shows that gel-swirl core under a navy zip cover. Joerns.com does not itself print the 2 in gel thickness.

These figures are from the Joerns Canadian Foam (Elite-G and Deluxe) product page, opened 2026-08-19, plus the SKU map and gel line on Canadian dealer sheets. The specification tab holds the stored values. Use 500 lb. Use Elite-G 500, not Elite-G 600 and not PrevaMatt.

Elite-G 500 or Deluxe 500

Elite-G 500 is the gel-topped Canadian foam. Deluxe 500 is the channeled foam sibling on the same Joerns page. Both are 500 lb class. The Elite-G 600 is a different SKU suffix. Joerns.com does not publish a 600 lb rating, so do not treat 600 as a drop-in higher-capacity Elite-G 500.

Funding help for a therapeutic mattress in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund mattresses or support surfaces. ADP funds, on purchase only, 75% of the approved price of manual and power wheelchairs, approved scooters, seating, and wheeled walkers for adults. OHIP does not reimburse this purchase. Ontario Health atHome (310-2222) and March of Dimes Canada can help some low-income applicants. Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), WSIB, ODSP discretionary benefits, and private insurance are the other common routes. Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this mattress across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, place it on the bed, and check the fit before we leave.

Purchased mattresses are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

Hospital mattresses are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the mattress is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Which beds this mattress fits

35 x 80 is the usual match for a Joerns EasyCare, UltraCare XT, or WeCare deck. 36 x 80 is the usual match for a Drive 36 in homecare deck. 39 and 42 in need the matching Joerns width kit. An 84 in mattress needs a length-extended deck, or the foam length bolster on an 80 in mattress when Joerns allows that pair.

What is the weight capacity?

Joerns prints 500 lb (227 kg) on the Canadian foam page. Stay at or under that rating, and at or under the bed frame rating.

Elite-G 500 or Deluxe 500?

Pick Elite-G 500 when the therapist asked for the gel-infused topper. Pick Deluxe 500 for the channeled foam core on the same Joerns family page.

Elite-G 500 or Elite-G 600?

Elite-G 500 is the SZ500CA list, 13 sizes. Elite-G 600 is three SZ600CA SKUs. Joerns.com does not publish a 600 lb rating. Do not assume 600 is a higher-capacity 500.

Does the raised perimeter replace metal rails?

No. Raised perimeter is a taller foam edge. Metal half rails bolt to the bed frame and are chosen on the bed page.

Does ADP cover this mattress?
