Hoyer Comfort Amputee Sling

The Hoyer Comfort Amputee is Joerns' clip sling for amputees. Westin Healthcare sells it in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Joerns prints a 500 lb / 227 kg safe working load. Attachment is Securi3 clip. Joerns: an amputee spreader bar is required. The official chart footnote names HOY_AMPUTEE_SB.

Joerns says this sling is designed for amputees and is also suitable for other patients who have to be fitted this way. A qualified person must assess suitability. This is not the Human Care Amputee sling we already sell, and it is not a loop Long Seat.

Who this sling is for

This sling is for a person whose clinician named a Hoyer Comfort Amputee, who stays at or under 500 lb, and whose lift has a Hoyer four-point clip cradle plus the amputee spreader bar. Families usually call us after an amputation when a loop Long Seat is not the sling on the order.

If the lift is a Hoyer Advance with a loop bar, start with the Hoyer Long Seat Commode or the Full Body Hammock. If you already own a Human Care lift, see the Human Care Amputee.

Sizing and fit

Joerns colour-codes the binding: Extra Small brown, Small red, Medium yellow, Large green, Extra Large blue. The Hoyer Family Brochure (p.25) prints recommended weight bands as a guide only. Extra Small 35-100 lb. Small 75-150 lb. Medium 125-200 lb. Large 175-350 lb. Extra Large 275-500 lb. A risk assessment decides the size. Confirm with a clinician or our staff before the first use.

Attachment and compatible lifts

This is a clip sling. Joerns: connect Securi3 clips to the 4-point cradle and the amputee spreader bar. Ensure all green safety loops are visible before lifting.

The Joerns clip chart marks Presence and Stature for this family. Westin does not currently list those lifts. Call (905) 451-7743 before you order. We will tell you whether your lift has the clip cradle and whether we can supply HOY_AMPUTEE_SB. This sling will not hang on a Hoyer Advance loop bar and will not hang on a Drive lift.

How to buy, delivery and setup

The price is the sling you pick. HST is extra. Westin Healthcare ships this sling across Brampton and the GTA, or you can pick it up at our Brampton showroom at Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive. If you buy it with a lift we already sold you, we bring the sling in, fit the loops or clips, and show you the attachment before we leave.

You are welcome to visit our Brampton showroom if you would rather see a sling first. For a scheduled visit, call (905) 451-7743. Same-day delivery is offered through our patient lift rental service when a lift and sling go out together. Purchased slings ship on a scheduled date.

This sling is a smaller good. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer can apply when the sling ships on its own. If it travels with an oversized lift, ask us for a freight quote. Funding help in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund slings. ADP funds, on purchase only, at 75% of the approved price: manual and power wheelchairs, approved scooters, seating, and wheeled walkers for adults. OHIP does not reimburse this purchase. Care and warranty

Joerns: machine wash warm, do not exceed 185 F / 85 C. Do not wash with bleach. Cool tumble dry, air dry, or dry at very low temperature. Do not dry clean. Inspect before every use. Destroy and discard worn slings.

Joerns' 2025 Hoyer sling warranty covers Pro slings for 12 months from purchase by the original owner. We handle the claim with you. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department.
