Blake Fusion XC Mattress

The Blake Fusion XC is Blake Medical's non-powered self-adjusting air and foam hospital mattress. High-resilient foam sits inside air cells with flow-control valves, and a sloped foam heel cradles the feet. Blake prints that it does not need a pump or an electrical outlet. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it on the bed for homes and care rooms in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.

Fusion XC is not the Fusion 4K powered low air loss system and not the Fusion APT alternating pressure mattress. Those are different Blake articles with pumps.

Who this mattress is for

This mattress is for a person who needs a hospital-bed surface that redistributes pressure with air and foam, and whose care plan does not call for a plugged-in pump. Families here usually call when they want a hybrid surface they can set and leave, or when the room has no spare outlet at the head of the bed.

Construction and how it works

Fusion XC is a hybrid, non-powered self-adjusting surface. Blake prints that high resilient foam is encapsulated in air cells, each with an air flow control valve, so the surface can immerse and envelop without a pump. Ten air/foam cells measure 4.5 in high by 27 in long by 4.5 in wide. A firm foam perimeter runs around the head and middle. The heel is solid foam and is sloped, unless the non-sloped (NS) option is ordered.

Blake's current catalog (page dated 2025) prints intended use as prevention of pressure injuries, healing of stage I-IV pressure injuries, and immersion and envelopment to redistribute pressure. That is Blake's language, not a Westin healing promise. The cover is 4-way stretch, breathable, fluid proof, and anti-microbial. Wipe it as Blake's care notes allow. Ask before anyone uses a washing machine.

A 36 inch Fusion XC sits on the Drive Delta 1000 and on the Permobil Halsa. A 42 inch Fusion XC needs a 42 inch deck such as the Drive 15300LW. Match a 48 inch row to the Drive 15302LW. Use the lower of the 500 lb mattress rating and the bed rating.
