Description
The DermaFloat APL is Joerns' alternating-pressure mattress with an integrated low-air-loss path under the therapy pad. Westin Healthcare sells the complete 36 x 80 system. It is not the DermaFloat LAL, which is a 500 lb low-air-loss surface without A-B alternation as the primary therapy.
Joerns' product page rates it at 350 lb (159 kg) and 36 x 80 x 8 in. Twenty cells. Low air loss up to 40 L/min when the alternating cycle is complete or the unit is in static therapy. Three cycle times: 5, 10, and 15 minutes. Eight comfort settings. Fowler Boost at 30 degrees head elevation. Panel lockout and an audible power-failure alarm.
Who this system is for
This system is for a person at or under 350 lb on a 36 x 80 deck whose care plan names alternating pressure plus low air loss. If the person is over 350 lb, or needs 42 in, use the DermaFloat LAL at 500 lb instead.

Funding help for a therapeutic mattress in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund mattresses or support surfaces. ADP funds, on purchase only, 75% of the approved price of manual and power wheelchairs, approved scooters, seating, and wheeled walkers for adults. OHIP does not reimburse this purchase. Ontario Health atHome (310-2222) and March of Dimes Canada can help some low-income applicants. Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), WSIB, ODSP discretionary benefits, and private insurance are the other common routes. Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this mattress across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, place it on the bed, connect a control unit when the order includes one, and check the fit before we leave.
You are welcome to visit our Brampton showroom at Unit 7, 15 Fisherman Drive if you would rather see a surface first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service. Purchased mattresses are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Hospital mattresses are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the mattress is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order. HST is extra.
