The Arise 1000 EX is Joerns' expandable bariatric low-air-loss surface, built for the Bari10A width and length change. Sixteen paired therapy cells and a control unit with Autofirm, Pulsate, and eight Therapy levels. Fowler Boost raises support when the head of the bed comes up.
Joerns' product page and spec 6220119 RevA print 36 / 42 / 48 in widths, 80 / 88 in lengths, 8.5 in depth, 28 lb mattress, 10 lb control unit (13.5 x 11 x 7.5 in), and 1000 lb capacity. These 2026 SKUs are the 48 x 88 set (4888 in the code). AREXLAL-4888NZ is the system. AREXLAL-4888-M is the mattress. AREXLAL-CU is the control unit.

System, mattress, or control unit
Order the complete system for a first install. Order the mattress or the control unit when you are replacing one piece. A lower three-inch cell stays under the five-inch therapy cells if power fails. Rapid CPR deflate is on the hose at the control unit.

Funding help for a mattress in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund hospital beds or mattresses. The provincial ADP page lists both under equipment it does not cover. OHIP does not reimburse this purchase. Ontario Health atHome (310-2222) and March of Dimes Canada can help some low-income applicants.
