The BariMatt 1000 Plus is Joerns' expandable foam bariatric mattress, built for the Bari10A frame. Zip-on side panels change the width. A one-inch visco-elastic topper sits on the foam. Joerns rates the surface at 1000 lb and names it for prevention and treatment up to Stage 2.
Joerns' public sheet lists 36 / 42 / 48 in widths and 80 / 88 in lengths, with a 36 x 80 transport mode. Brochure photos print 6.5 in depth. The 2026 Canadian order code is B1000-4884NZBA. That code is how we order against the list, which prints 48 x 84 nylon. Joerns' public product sheet and brochure list 80 and 88 in lengths, not 84. Do not treat 84 in as a confirmed Joerns length. Length: confirm before you order
Keep the TSV size 48 x 84 on the order line. That is the Canadian list code, not a Joerns.com length we opened. Joerns.com lists 80 and 88 in. If Joerns ships 80 or 88 against this code, the surface will not match an 84 in deck. Confirm with us first.
Who this mattress is for
This mattress is for a person at or under 1000 lb on a Joerns bariatric frame who needs an expandable foam surface rather than a powered air system. If the care plan names low air loss, see the Joerns Arise 1000 EX or the Joerns Cair 1000.
How the width changes
Joerns zips the side bolsters on and off. Transport mode is 36 x 80 in. The cover has screened setup art. Relief cuts let the surface follow the frame. Keep the pieces zipped so there is no gap.
Funding help for a mattress in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund hospital beds or mattresses. The provincial ADP page lists both under equipment it does not cover. OHIP does not reimburse this purchase. Ontario Health atHome (310-2222) and March of Dimes Canada can help some low-income applicants.
