The MK 8G24 battery is a 12 V group 24 sealed gel cell for larger mobility scooters and power chairs. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and can swap it in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. MK prints 73.6 Ah at the 20-hour rate and 63.0 Ah at the 5-hour rate. Most of those devices run two 12 V batteries in series for 24 V, so you usually buy two and replace both at the same time.

Who this battery is for

This is the sealed group 24 gel, not the AGM 8A24 and not a 22NF. Quantum and other chair makers name group 24 gel on some bases. It is not a U1 travel-scooter cell and it is not the flooded MK DC24. Bring the old group 24 or a photo of the stamp and the T881 posts.

MK 8G24 gel battery chemistry and pairs

MK prints the 8G24 as a valve-regulated gelled-electrolyte battery, not an absorbed glass mat. The gel family sheets rate it non-spillable by DOT, ICAO, and IATA definitions. A gel cell wants a gel-capable charger. Do not use a charger that is set only for flooded or only for AGM unless the charger maker says it has a gel profile.

Westin sells the 8G24T881 as a single 12 V battery. Order two when the device takes a pair, and keep the pair matched in chemistry and amp-hour rating.

Stay on gel if the old cell is gel. If the old cell is AGM, see the MK 8A24. A 22NF gel tray takes the MK 8G22NF. A 22NF AGM tray takes the MK 8A22NF. The flooded group 24 is the MK DC24, a wet cell, not a sealed mobility tray.
