Description

SystemRoMedic EasyGlide is a hard polyethylene sliding board for moving a person from one seat to another, including a wheelchair, a bed, a toilet, and a car seat. Savaria Patient Care lists it as EasyGlide. Westin Healthcare quotes it and delivers it for homes and care sites in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.

This is not EasySlide. EasySlide is a fabric tubular slide sheet. EasyGlide is a rigid black board with a smooth top and anti-slip tape underneath. If you need the fabric sheet we already carry, see EasySlide. If the person needs a belt for a sit-to-stand or a supported slide, see EasyBelt. If they can stand and pivot, see the Handicare ReTurn.

Who it is for

This board is for a person who can take part in a seated slide, when a short hard bridge is safer than a lift or a full stand. SystemRoMedic names sitting transfers that level a height difference or span a short gap. Active users can slide themselves. If the person needs support, SystemRoMedic says to add EasyBelt or FlexiBelt. Do not leave the person unattended.

  • Homes and care sites that move a person between wheelchair, bed, toilet, or commode
  • Car transfers when a three-part board can reach from the wheelchair to the seat
  • A person inside the safe working load printed for that board and that gap
  • Caregivers who need a hard board, not a fabric tube, to bridge two seats

How the board works

Place the wheelchair at an angle, close to the bed or the car seat. Remove the near armrest and any leg supports. Set EasyGlide as a bridge. On 5020 and 5050, fold the long side against the wheelchair wheel so clothing stays clean. Lean the person slightly the other way, slide the board under, then slide across. When the transfer is done, bend the board up to take it out.

The top is low-friction so the person slides. The underside has double anti-slip tape so the board stays on the supporting surface. A quick-guide is printed on the underside. A FootStool can raise the thighs if you need space to place the board or a sling. EasyGlide is not a lift and it has no loops or clips.

SystemRoMedic EasyGlide specifications

These figures are for the current EasyGlide family, not EasySlide, not EasyBelt, and not ReTurn. The default board on this page is 5020, the three-part 23.6 in x 13.0 in (600 mm x 330 mm) sitting board, 5 mm thick. SystemRoMedic prints 5020 safe working load as 150 kg (330 lb) at a 5 cm gap, 135 kg (297 lb) at 10 cm, and 125 kg (275 lb) at 20 cm. Stay inside the number that matches the gap you actually have.

5050 is the longer three-part board at 29.5 in x 13.0 in and 6 mm thick, with a higher short-gap rating (170 kg / 375 lb at 5 cm). 5060 is 23.6 in x 9.8 in. 5070 is 17.7 in x 7.9 in. Both solid boards share 150 kg (330 lb) at 5 cm and 135 kg (297 lb) at 10 cm. Extra-long 5000 is 47.2 in x 23.6 in for supine bed-to-bed work, 250 kg (550 lb) at 5 cm, 200 kg (440 lb) at 10 cm, and 150 kg (330 lb) at 15 cm, with a 15 cm maximum gap. Oval 5040 (1 pc) and 5042 (2 pcs) are 33.5 in x 15.4 in. SystemRoMedic prints 300 kg (661 lb) on those ovals, and 135 kg at a 5 cm gap on firm surfaces for a bed-to-gurney move. Oval mini 5045 is a 17.7 in x 7.9 in pair with a 150 kg rating.

Material is polyethylene, black. Clean with warm water or soap. Disinfect with 70% ethanol, 45% isopropanol, or similar. Expected lifetime is up to 10 years of normal use. SystemRoMedic marks the sitting and oval boards as Medical Device Class I under MDR 2017/745. Do not read EasySlide fabric sizes or ReTurn platform numbers onto this page.

Model options

Use the Model selector to pick the factory code on your quote:

  • 5020: EasyGlide 23.6 x 13.0 in, three-part (sitting and car; foldable sides)
  • 5050: EasyGlide 29.5 x 13.0 in, three-part (longer sitting and car; foldable sides)
  • 5060: EasyGlide 23.6 x 9.8 in (narrower solid sitting board)
  • 5070: EasyGlide 17.7 x 7.9 in (smallest solid sitting board)
  • 5000: EasyGlide extra long 47.2 x 23.6 in (supine bed to bed or stretcher)
  • 5045: EasyGlide oval mini 17.7 x 7.9 in, pair (farther back in a chair; sling placement)
  • 5040: EasyGlide oval 33.5 x 15.4 in, 1 pc (supine and sling placement)
  • 5042: EasyGlide oval 33.5 x 15.4 in, 2 pcs

This listing is quote-only. The board in the code you pick is what ships. A storage pocket (4014) can be quoted with the order. EasyBelt, FlexiBelt, FootStool, and slings are sold separately.

Delivery in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team can deliver this board across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a board first. For a scheduled visit, call (905) 451-7743.

This board is a smaller good. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer can apply when the board ships on its own. If it travels with an oversized lift or a bed, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

What this board works with

EasyGlide is a hard board. It is not attached to a lift. For a supported sitting transfer, SystemRoMedic names EasyBelt or FlexiBelt. We already sell EasyBelt. Ask us to add the belt size on the same quote. A FootStool can raise the thighs so the board or a sling can go under.

Do not confuse this page with EasySlide. That card is the fabric tube we already sell (RoMedic Easy Slide 20 x 24). Use EasySlide when you need a soft sheet in bed. Use EasyGlide when you need a hard bridge between two seats or into a car.

If the person can stand and turn, start with the Handicare ReTurn instead of a sliding board. ReTurn is a sit-to-stand platform. It is not a board, and this board is not a ReTurn.

Service, repairs, and warranty

When something on the board needs a look, you call the shop that sold it, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department.

SystemRoMedic EasyGlide warranty

The manuals that ship with this family do not print a warranty term in years. Inspect the board before every use. Discard it if the material is worn, faded, or no longer both elastic and rigid. Westin Healthcare processes the claim with you. Ask us what cover applies to your order.

Frequently asked questions

How is EasyGlide different from EasySlide?

EasyGlide is a hard black polyethylene board. EasySlide is a fabric tubular slide sheet. We already sell EasySlide. Pick EasyGlide for a seat-to-seat or car bridge. Pick EasySlide when you need a soft sheet in bed.

What is the safe working load of EasyGlide 5020?

150 kg (330 lb) at a 5 cm gap, 135 kg (297 lb) at 10 cm, and 125 kg (275 lb) at 20 cm. Stay inside the number that matches the gap. Other codes have their own table on this page.

Which size is for a car transfer?

SystemRoMedic names car transfers for the sitting family. The three-part boards, 5020 and 5050, are the usual car sizes because they are longer and the sides fold against the wheelchair wheel. We will match the gap on your quote.

Does a belt come with the board?

No. The quote is the board in the code you pick. If the person needs support, add EasyBelt. FlexiBelt is the hug-style sibling and is quoted separately.

Can I use EasyGlide to put on a sling?

Yes on the oval codes. 5040, 5042, and the 5045 pair are named for sling placement as well as sliding. A FootStool can lift the thighs so the board can go under. Follow the sling's own manual for the lift and the loops.

How do I clean EasyGlide?

Wash the surface with warm water or soap. If you need to disinfect, SystemRoMedic names 70% ethanol, 45% isopropanol, or similar.

How is EasyGlide different from the Handicare ReTurn?

ReTurn is a sit-to-stand platform for a person who can pull up, stand, and turn. EasyGlide is a hard board for a seated slide. They are not the same product. See the ReTurn if standing is the job.

Do I need two caregivers?

An active user can slide themselves. SystemRoMedic says not to leave them unattended. If they need support, add EasyBelt. Extra-long and large-oval bed transfers are shown with two caregivers and a draw sheet.

What does extra long 5000 do?

5000 is a 47.2 in x 23.6 in board for a supine move from one bed or stretcher to another. Maximum gap is 15 cm. It is not the sitting car board.

How fast can a purchased EasyGlide be delivered in the GTA?

This is a smaller good. Ask us for the next ship date. Call (905) 451-7743. Same-day delivery belongs to the rental service for lifts and beds, not automatically to a purchased board.

What is the warranty on EasyGlide?

The manufacturer manuals do not print a year term. Inspect the board before use and stop using it if it is worn. Westin Healthcare processes the warranty work. Details are on our service and repairs page.
