Drive Mattress Extender 35"x6"x4" with Vinyl Cover - 3835-4

The Drive Mattress Extender 3835-4 is a 35 inch wide, 6 inch high, 4 inch deep foam block with a vinyl cover. It sits in the gap between a hospital mattress and the headboard or footboard. Westin Healthcare sells it in Brampton and can send it with a bed delivery across the Greater Toronto Area. It does not lengthen the bed frame. Frame length is a different kit: 15030EXTKIT on a Delta, 15005EXTKIT-L on a 15005LP, or P703LE on a P703.

Which beds this fits

This is a size-based gap filler, not a model-locked rail. The printed size is 35" W x 6" H x 4" L, so it belongs on a standard 36 inch-wide deck when a gap of about 4 inches is left at the head or foot. Typical cases:

• A Drive Delta 1000 or Drive Delta 15235 after 15030EXTKIT, if you keep an 80 inch mattress on the longer deck
• A Drive 15005LP after 15005EXTKIT-L, same 80 inch mattress on an 84 inch deck
• A Drive SoLite Pro or another 36 inch homecare deck with a 4 inch head or foot gap
• A Drive PrimeCare P703 at 36 inches wide if a short mattress leaves a 4 inch gap. The P703 already has mattress retainers for 76, 80, and 84 inches; use those first

It does not fit a 42, 48, or 54 inch deck. It is too narrow for the Drive Prime Plus P750 and for a P903 that has been opened to 39 or 42 inches. It is not a substitute for 15030EXTKIT, 15005EXTKIT-L, or P703LE.

Drive's current shop extender is a different item, HDC-GAPCUSH_6, at 36 x 6 x 4 inches, written as a way to take an 80 inch homecare mattress to 84 inches. Westin SKU 3835-4 is the 35 inch vinyl-cover foam that dealers still list under that older Drive number.

These figures are for Westin SKU 3835-4. Dealer listings that still print the Drive number use UPC 822383523576 and the size 35" W x 6" H x 4" L. The cover is vinyl over foam. Wipe it clean. Drive's current public shop card for 3835-4 is gone; do not treat HDC-GAPCUSH_6 numbers as this SKU.

Drive does not publish a weight capacity or a warranty term for 3835-4 on a current shop card. The block fills a gap up to 4 inches. It is not a mattress and it is not a sleep surface on its own.

Does this extend the bed frame?

No. It is foam that fills a gap. To lengthen a Delta, use 15030EXTKIT. To lengthen a 15005LP, use 15005EXTKIT-L. To take a P703 to 88 inches, use P703LE.

What size gap does it fill?

Up to 4 inches, at 35 inches wide and 6 inches high. Measure the opening between the mattress and the headboard or footboard.

Will it fit a 42 inch bed?

No. It is 35 inches wide. A 39 inch or wider deck will leave uncovered space on the sides.

Do I still need an 84 inch mattress after a length kit?

An 84 inch mattress is the cleaner setup. Use this extender only if you are keeping a shorter mattress and need to close the leftover gap.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the vinyl cover. Do not put the foam in a washing machine.

Is this the same as Drive HDC-GAPCUSH_6?

No. HDC-GAPCUSH_6 is Drive's current 36 x 6 x 4 inch homecare extender. 3835-4 is the 35 inch vinyl-cover foam Westin lists under that older number.

What is the warranty?
