Description
The Pride Maxima 4-wheel scooter is a heavy duty mobility scooter for outdoor pavement and everyday rides in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Pride rates the Maxima 4-Wheel (SC941) at 500 lbs (227 kg), up to 5.8 mph (9.3 km/h), and up to 19.5 miles (31.3 km) on a pair of NF-22 58 Ah gel batteries.
This is Pride's 500 lb class 4-wheel. A 22 in by 18-20 in high-back seat, 53 in (135 cm) turning radius, and two front wheels are how it leaves the 3-wheel Maxima. It is not a folding travel scooter and the frame does not split like a Go-Go. Range and speed change with rider weight, terrain, and battery charge.
Who this scooter is for
This heavy duty mobility scooter is for a person who needs a 500 lb rating, a 22 in captain seat, and a four-wheel stance on sidewalks and driveways. Families usually call us when 400 lbs is not enough and a 3-wheel feels tall on broken pavement.
If you want the same 500 lb Maxima with a tighter 49 in turn, see the Pride Maxima 3-Wheel Heavy Duty Scooter. If 400 lbs and a scooter that still comes apart are enough, start with the Pride Victory 10.2 4-Wheel Scooter. The Maxima 4-Wheel is not an off-road Baja and it is not the faster PX4.
- 500 lb (227 kg) rating and a 22 in by 18-20 in high-back seat
- Four wheels and a 53 in (135 cm) turning radius
- Outdoor pavement on flat-free solid tires
Range, speed, and batteries
Pride's Maxima 4-Wheel table lists a maximum range of 19.5 miles (31.3 km) and a top speed of 5.8 mph (9.3 km/h) on a 58 Ah NF-22 gel pair and a 5 amp off-board charger. Those figures are the maximums Pride prints at the 500 lb rating. Rider weight, hills, wind, and battery condition shorten them.
Charge after every trip. Pride tells Maxima riders to leave the charger on for 8 to 14 hours after a day of use, and to unplug it if the charger light has not shown a full charge by 24 hours. Only the sealed gel or AGM pair Pride specifies belongs in this scooter.
Portability and transport
The Pride Maxima 4-Wheel is not a car-trunk travel scooter. Pride Canada prints 196.8 lbs (89 kg) without batteries and 269.8 lbs (122 kg) with the NF-22 pair. Seat and batteries come off. Pride Canada prints 143.6 lbs (65 kg) for the chassis with the seat and batteries off. The frame stays together.
Pride does not rate the Maxima 4-Wheel as an airline travel scooter. A 58 Ah gel pair and a 47.5 in (121 cm) length will not go as cabin luggage. Ask the airline before you book if you must travel with it. The scooter is not a seat in a motor vehicle. For a scheduled drop-off in Brampton or the GTA, call (905) 451-7743.

The optional power elevating seat adds 6.25 in of height for counters and cabinets. It is an option, not a second Maxima. The front basket, LED lights, USB port, rearview mirror, and delta tiller are standard. A front bumper is optional on the 4-wheel; side bumpers are standard.
3-wheel or 4-wheel Maxima
The Pride Maxima 4-Wheel is the planted 500 lb Maxima. It turns in 53 in (135 cm) and clears 2.25 in (5.7 cm) at the motor. The Pride Maxima 3-Wheel Heavy Duty Scooter turns in 49 in (124 cm) and clears 2.5 in (6.4 cm). Stay on four wheels for sidewalks and driveways. Stay on three wheels for aisles.
The Pride Victory 10.2 4-Wheel is the 400 lb mid-size that comes apart for a car. The Pride Pursuit 2 is the 400 lb lithium outdoor 4-wheel when you want more speed than 5.8 mph. The Pride Pursuit XL is the 400 lb lead-acid outdoor 4-wheel with Comfort-Trac.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a heavy duty mobility scooter first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our mobility scooter rental service; purchased scooters are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
This scooter is oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the scooter is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Pride manufacturer warranty
Pride Canada's Maxima card prints a lifetime limited frame term, 2 years on electronics, 2 years on the drivetrain, and 13 months on batteries, for the original purchaser. Wear items such as tires and shrouds sit outside that term. Batteries wear with charge cycles. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
How Far Can A Mobility Scooter Go?
The Pride Maxima 4-Wheel has a maximum range of 19.5 miles (31.3 km) on Pride's Maxima table. Rider weight, hills, wind, and battery condition shorten that number. Charge after every trip if you want the distance Pride printed.
How Long Does It Take To Charge A Mobility Scooter?
The Pride Maxima 4-Wheel uses a 5 amp off-board charger on a 58 Ah NF-22 pair. Pride tells Maxima riders to charge 8 to 14 hours after a day of use, and to unplug the charger if it has not shown a full charge by 24 hours.
Can I Take A Mobility Scooter On A Plane?
The Pride Maxima 4-Wheel is not an airline travel scooter. It is 47.5 in (121 cm) long, 269.8 lbs (122 kg) with batteries, and it uses a 58 Ah gel pair. Ask the airline before you book. This is a delivered heavy duty scooter, not a cabin fold.
Can I Use A Mobility Scooter In The Rain?
The Pride Maxima 4-Wheel owner's manual prints an IPX4 splash classification. Pride does not print a rain-riding rating. Keep the scooter and charger out of standing water, snow, and salt, and bring it in when the weather turns.
Does ADP Cover Scooters?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help with a mobility scooter after an ADP-registered therapist assessment. Eligibility depends on the person and the category. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy. We will point you to the right path for your case.
3-Wheel Vs 4-Wheel Scooter?
The Pride Maxima 4-Wheel is a 4-wheel heavy duty scooter. Four wheels and a 53 in (135 cm) turn are how Pride built it for outdoor pavement. The Pride Maxima 3-Wheel turns in 49 in (124 cm). Pick four wheels for a wider stance. Pick three wheels for indoor turns.
What Is The Weight Limit For A Mobility Scooter?
The Pride Maxima 4-Wheel is rated at 500 lbs (227 kg) on Pride's table, rider plus accessories. If 400 lbs is enough and you want a scooter that comes apart, look at the Victory 10.2 4-Wheel.
How Wide Is A Mobility Scooter?
The Pride Maxima 4-Wheel is 27 in (69 cm) wide and turns in 53 in (135 cm). Measure driveways, ramps, and elevator doors before you buy. The turn, not only the width, is the indoor limit.
Do Mobility Scooters Work In Winter?
The Pride Maxima 4-Wheel is a pavement scooter with 2.25 in of clearance and solid tires, not a snow scooter. Keep it off ice and salt. Cold weather shortens battery range. Ask us about storage if the scooter will sit through a Brampton winter.
Can I Rent A Mobility Scooter?
Westin Healthcare rents mobility scooters for short-term needs in the GTA. See the mobility scooter rental page and call (905) 451-7743 to check what is on the floor. A rental scooter may be a different model than the Maxima 4-Wheel.
